Question Metformin Question

I have a question. I got diagnosed with PCOS in May. Since then I have been taking metformin (500 mgs/ 3 times a day). I was under the impression that my insulin was lower now since my doc had not mentioned anything about it the past 2 times I went to see him. I have not lost any weight on the meds while trying various diets and exercising regularly. When I went to my doc a couple of weeks ago, he told me that he wanted to try increasing my metformin to 4 or 5 a day because my insulin was still too high. Does anyone know if this is the reason that I am not losing weight? If I increased the meds and the insulin levels finally became lower, would I be able to lose weight? Please if you know, respond. I am getting really frustrated and need some hope.

It is the high insulin levels that make weight loss so difficult, so I would assume that once your levels are lowered you will be able to lose weight yes.

If not there may be another factor at play such as a thyroid problem, food allergies, candida etc,

Thank you. Hopefully that is the case. My thyroid has been checked and it is working properly. I don't know of any foods that i am allergic so maybe it will work. I am trying to stay positive, but it is hard.
