Default Metformin and St Johns Wort

Hi there! I have been on metformin 500mg x 3 a day. Since April 2005 and it regulated my period, got rid of excess hair and helped me naturally lose weight. Thing is my last period I started taking St Johns Wort as I was feeling depressed, and my normal period had not started and I started getting the pregnancy style symptoms I used to get pre-metformin. I did not realise the St Johns Wort was interacting with the metformin. I was two weeks late panicking because I thought I was pregnant, I read up on metformin and St Johns Wort, it does not tell you a lot about interactions and pharmacists do not have a lot of details, however I stopped the wort and AF makes an appearance, so if you do decide to take St Johns Wort with Metformin for PCOS, DONT!! It will make the Metformin ineffective.

I know what you mean guys!! I was exhausted had headaches always feel sick and have IBS and my doctor looks at me like I am some sorta hypochondriac, I am pretty sure its the Metformin dosage in my system for so long.
I wanted the St Johns Wort to help me happier and it did I was high had no pms felt good then I started panicking because I also had no AF on the actual day!
Now it is here it is killing me! Hopefully had a blood test and will talk to my GP lets see what he says
