But I read somewhere (maybe on this site - don't remember) that women with pcos often have someone in their family with diabetes and/or high blood pressure, or obesity. My mother has high blood pressure...
Kari - That is fantastic! Hope it will work for you, too!!! |

But you can have a period without ovulating... |

The problem of course with ovulating without getting a period is that it's very hard to track unless you are charting daily.
Cheers,
Suzan

I had my last period in July 2002, got pregnant with my daughter (born in April 2003)and then didn't have a period and then got pregnant with my son and he was born in November 2004). You can however have anovulatory bleeding, meaning that you bleed without having ovualted first. Hope that helps. Read Taking Charge of your Fertility. Its an awesome book that really helps you learn abotu your body. |

My Mood: Points: 333.93 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 333.93 | Hello,
I am 8 weeks pregnant, took Met 850 - one cycle and got pg. My doctor recommended that I get off Met (as it had done it's job) and prescribed progesterone tablets to take through the first trimester. The progesterone tablets are called Duphaston. Anyway, I have gained 10 pounds in one month on these tablets and am miserable! They make me continuously hungry!! I feel like I have no control over this situation. My doctor has advised me to stay with the progesterone tablets to ensure a healthy lining in my womb. He said that women who have PCOS sometimes do not have enought progesterone in their bodies and need a supplement. I understand all that but I'm so depressed about this sudden weight gain. Has anyone had a similar experience or have any tips on how to not eat everything in sight while pregnant and starving. I have been exercising at least 4 days a week and TRY to be mindful but when it's 3am and I'm starving sometimes my judgement is not at its best.
I appreciate whatever info you can provide.
Thanks!
Brooke |

Points: 369.35 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 369.35 | Brooke - I have taken Duphaston several times to get a cycle started and never experienced any of the side effects you're describing. I never had any problems with these pills. Weight gain? Continuously hungry? Sounds to me you're very pregnant. When I was 8 weeks pregnant I felt awful! Don't be so hard on yourself, you will lose the weight after your pregnancy! Just a few more weeks untill your 2nd trimester. |

My Mood: Points: 89,546.10 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 89,546.10 | Brooke ~ I gained at least 1/2 my pregnancy weight in the 1st trimester. Don't worry about it too much. Just eat a balanced diet instead of junk food and it will even out in the end. Some women gain the weight early and some later. Don't forget you need more protein when you're pregnant and don't leave out the fat and carbs.

Brooke | Hi there, I know it's been a while since you posted this but I just wanted to say my OB had me on my met for my whole pregnancy and the perinatologist agreed. Hope all is well.

(I was a bit underweight to start). I seem to be gaining slower this time around for some reason. Anyway, don't worry too much about it just yet. |

Points: 606.67 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 606.67 | Brooke, if you're eating right and exercise then you're doing great! I unfortunately can not get into the habit of exercise and wish I could. All I know is that my 1st trimester I was starved non-stop, even with my morning sickness and now at 21 weeks, I've gained a total of 20 pounds, so I know I'm going to be looking at 40+ by the end. I'm definitely not as hungry as I was so my appetite has been cut back and I'm determined from here on out to eat healthier and try to get out and walk more.
Adsbcs - That's great about the 30lbs! Has Met regulated your cycles? Why do feel like you have a slim chance? Sometimes it does take more than Met to get PG. Combining Met w/ Clomid is always a good option. KUP! |

I think I was looking for an excuse to justify this hunger! I've never been pregnant before and have no idea what to expect. I'm starved all the time and am eating all the time. On a positive note, we went to the doctor yesterday and heard the heartbeat! Very cool. Wish us luck. I'm so paranoid about miscarriage but am trying to stay positive. |
