I have been on it for 3 months now and I can't wait to get my BFP. What an awesome Christmas gift! I pray you'll have a speedy and healthy pregnancy.
Brener-Glad to hear your great news. I remember reading your sad news awhile back and it is so good to hear that you have new joy and that you've had a great first five weeks. I wish you a healthy happy pregnancy!!!!

I'd say, like TrishainAZ that the 1.5 tablets has obviously worked for you - my added question would be how do you feel on the dosage you are on. If you feel ok (not too many dizzy spells or excessive hunger) then you're dose is helping enough I would say. If you do want to increase your dose - do it really really slowly. think of the slowest you think you should do the increase and do it even slower than that! Good luck sweetheart! Do you take the XR version? Also, I have a terrible acid reflux thing too and other food aggravates it and I take oemeprazole each day for it and Gaviscon when it flares up. Dunno whether any of that is appropriate for you or for any pregnant lady - hope your doctors support all your problems. sprinklesplash congrtulations and merry Christmas - what a present! Made me smile!
as for me, I'm taking my Met (1500mg XR a day) and Cinnamon to supplement it - seems to be helping the IR symptoms. Am just on Cycle 2 of the clomid - My doctor had hoped that the Met would sort my cycle out and help me ovulate ... now she hopes the Clomid will encourage my body to do it's thing, help the Met along.... I hope it all works out soon!

ChickPea - I am on Normal Version of Metforim. Last June I was on 2 tabs a day and got preg but had early mis. I then tried to up to 3 tabs, totally desperate to get preg again. Then I get severe Acid reflux. I could not eat. I lost about 10lbs and went underweight looked desperate. I had lost my Mam to cancer just a few mths previous and then the stress of the M/c tipped me over the edge. I took some time off TTC.. I then started back with a fertility clinic in Last Aug and I didnt go back on MEtforim. Just on injections etc to OV. I did OV but was getting bfn's. Nurse then said please get back on metforim it really is the key. So I started on 250mg and went up VERY VERY slowly to 500mg and then up to 2 tabs but at 2 tabs I was sick everyday and life being a nitemare again, I decreased back to 1.5 tabs and I felt ok-ish...
Acid reflux was now under control - thanks to homeopathy. NO CONVENTIONAL MEDICINE WORKED... Only all natural remedies. I have being seeing a homeopath since my mother passed away. She has helped me so much.
Ok so back on metforim about 6 weeks and I got preg..
So on Progrestone support now till 12 weeks and 1.5 tabs. I dont think I will increase. I feel BRILLIANT on the 1.5 tabs now.. I think maybe my hormones are levelling out cause Iam pregnant???
Keep with it all Chick pea.. it will work but sometimes takes time. I am trying since MArch 06.

NASTY i know.. any advice" | Didi I followed the advice my Dr gave me and it really helped the Met side effects - she told me to eat 3 or 4 meals a day, based on protein and low GI carbs, and no snacks. She said take the Met 30 minutes before each meal, so that it has started working when the food gets to my tummy. When i follow this religiously, I feel very well.
Examples of meals - eggs/cheese/yoghurt for breakfast, or cereal + 1 egg, or toast + 1 egg (you can eat normal breakfast food, even fruit, but have the egg or some slices of meat or cheese for the protein)
Lunches and dinners - piece of meat or fish or eggs with veg and berries for dessert
Snacks - slices of cheese, meat, crudites, oatcakes, low GI crispbread, peanut butter
When you want sweet things, fruit etc, have them with your lunch if possible or at least with lunch and dinner. You'll feel much better. But do have them every day if you do want them, otherwise you'll try and be good and just be miserable when you can't stand it and eat them away from a meal.
Don't have juice, and avoid fruit - but the best fruit with the lowest carbs happens to be berries - strawberries, raspberries etc, all except blueberries, they have lots of carbs. eat nuts, pulses, houmous etc.
I make a lot of stews with meat, veg and pulses in them, so it's all there and I can freeze it and have a bowl when i need it.

I hate being disappointed. Sure it could be early, but I don't think it is.. I am just going to sit an wait for AF to show up and if she doesn't, then it wasn't in my cards...I am in such a cranky mood

My Mood: Points: 223.60 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 223.60 | My doctor just gave me this website. i think it is wonderful. i am just starting out and i'm not too sure how to use it yet. anyway, i was diagnosed with pcos about 1 year ago. i have been taking metformin ever since. my husband and i have been trying to conceive for 7 years. we have tried everything from iui to ivf. i miscarried 7 1/2 years ago and did not get pregnant again until this past september. unfortunately the pregnancy only lasted a few weeks. looks like my last option is losing weight which has been very hard. i wonder if anyone can suggest a good diet. i've seen other messages on here where people are losing 20+ pounds, i have only lost 7 pounds in the past year. i am thinking of going back to weight watchers but feel as with most diets that i never stick with it. does anyone have any suggestions for diet or anything else i can do to improve my fertility? |
