My Mood: Points: 4,276.42 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 4,276.42 | Wow, this site is great!
It's given me so much hope reading all these messages.
Took ages for me to be diagnosed, as my blood tests were all normal, I weigh 'normal' for the charts (but not for me, I gained lots of lbs in a few months, despite exercise and low cal diet...heading towards overweight) FINALLY I had a scan, and there it was!
Well, I've been on 500mg for 4 days now...and move to 1500mg as of Friday. Noticed nothing thus far, and even gained a lb...but I guess the dose is pretty low?
I am desperate for babies in the near-ish future, and also want to lose some lbs.
I am trying to cut out 'bad' carbs - i.e. no pasta, potatoes, white bread...but I noticed my GI book said peanut M&Ms and Snickers were medium GI...so I treat myself to something like that, or some chocolate brazils. Should I knock this on the head too? Or will my appetite do that when my dosage increases?
Any guidance much appreciated...I feel I am fumbling around making bad decisions!! |

I feel somewhat normal again. Not so tired and moody all of the time. Keeping my fingers crossed that I start to ovulate again.

My Mood: Points: 763.94 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 763.94 | Update YAY! My hair is growing back Well I can honestly say that because things havent been so off the wall that its been a few weeks..... and i just now noticed new growth of baby hairs in my hairline.!!! So no more large widow's peek and balding sides at my temples. I'm on 1000mg of Met as of now. My beyond excessive bodily fur seems to be coming in less. That and I started using Aveno Positively Smooth stubble reducing lotion after i shave. i normally don't shave for 3 weeks either way because its such a freakin project and i go thru a whole pack of disposable rasors at a time. lol . So its nice to not turn into a warewolf after 3 weeks. I dont have to look for wiskers as much either. I got on a scale today although i almost didnt want to because i was afraid that i might get discouraged. But i did it anyways and since january i've lost 16 lbs. Which is so much better than gaining weight or staying the same. However in combination I've been doing the south beach diet for like a few weeks now. So either way ... hmmmm . I am planning on asking my doctor next monday when i can increase to 1500mg.
I'm really happy that this forum is here. its giving me so much encouragement, to stay on this medication to not give up so quickly. Thanks Cysters!!!! |

I did miscarry in the beginning of the month, which of course was awful. But I went right back on Met two days later, and am down 6 lbs from what I weighed in the hospital the day after the miscarriage.
Can't wait to post my second BFP!

My doctor didn't say anything to me about increasing the dosage. Thanks for any help! Baby dust to all who want it! Let's make 2008 and year of BFPs! |

My Mood: Points: 763.94 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 763.94 | Anyone know/ have any IR diet recipes?? Or how close is the IR diet compared to South Beach phase 1??? I've been doing South beach phase 1 for a minute now.. I'm almost afraid to drop down to phase 2. I've been reading up on IR diet for a few days and it almost sounds the same as SB phase 1.... But I'm much more responsible as far as lifestyle changes go. So although most people would look at IR diet being very strict.... I'm starting to see this way of life being the only way to live healthy and at my best. so PLEASE give me some hints or feedback.. lol |

My Mood: Points: 690.94 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 690.94 | Wow! Congrats to the ladies that have had such great success with Met! I am on 2000mg/day and have been for a few months, started at 500,1000, 1500 etc. back in August. If I don't eat with it or take it right before bed, it makes my tummy hurt. I have not noticed much other than digestive regulation. If I eat bad foods, I pay the next day- for sure! I am excited to TTC again in a few months and hopefully get my BFP that we deserve! |

My Mood: Points: 1,546.91 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 1,546.91 | Hi everyone. I haven't been on here in a while. Just to update: I've been ttc for 3 1/2 years and been taking 1700mg of met for almost 2 months. It's cd 31 for me and I'm having cramps but no af yet. I didn't bother with taking an hpt. I figured that more than likely I wouldn't get pregnant the first month on met. The good news is that I think my periods are more regular. Before they were anywhere from 40 to 50 days apart. So thats something to be happy about. I go back to the doctor in March. He may want to start me on clomid if my periods are regular, but im kind of scared because I know I only have six months to achieve pregnancy on clomid. Thats a lot of pressure right now. I think I may want to just stick with met for about six months. It may be all that I need. Hopefully. |
