But I haven't really been dieting for the last week or two or three. I lost about 30 pounds . Need to get back to dieting b4 I gain it back. But you know what, When I was dieting and taking met, I felt so much better as compared to now (just starting back met and diet).

When I first starting taking met I starting with 1000mg and was fine. Thats a good idea though about taking met b4 a meal as opposed to after. I will try that. Thanks!

I'm sure it depends on the woman though. |

If you read through this thread you'll see some women get pregnant almost immediately on a low dose and unfortunately some women who it doesn't work at all for at any dose. For me, it seems to take 3-4 months regardless of dose. |

I think I will start take 1 1/2 tablets in the morning and then the other 1 1/2 at night.

My Mood: Points: 763.94 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 763.94 | NEWS for all of you that are TTC Hello it surely has been a long time since I've been on here. I started on MET back in December by my own request to my doctor. He agreed I started on 500mg once a day then 2 months later in February I moved to 500mg twice a day. I lost 30 lbs It was so nice to FINALLY have found the answer at continuing my weight loss not to mention all the fur.
Ok so.. when I was first diagnosed back in 03 I was told that I would more than likely never conceive naturally and if I wanted to try I would have to be sent to a specialist. To most women this is the most devistating news possible. But to me it meant not having to worry about things. I put it off in my mind that I would be completely career and me oriented I would start planning my entire life free of children. To me this was awesome. Everyone around me was fully aware of how much kids freaked me out... how much I NEVER EVER WANTED a baby ever.. lol
Well for the first time in my life I ovulated starting in February or March.. lol I had no idea that kind of discharge was ovulation.. I just thought something was wrong. However, my younger sister (who is a lesbian) and I were talking about this weird jelly and she said that maybe you're ovulating.. LOL I was like ok maybe but whatever and couldnt figure why she would need to know this anyway lol
SURE ENUFF I WAS!!! AND I AM NOW 7 WEEKS PREGNANT. MY MY MY MY MY how everything has changed. Reading all these posts months ago I didnt believe that Met would actually cause anyone to get a positve preg test. WOW how dumb and naive I was. When I started cramping and getting back pains I started to freak out and went to the emergency room thinking maybe this could be an ectopic pregnancy or a miscarriage. LOL seeings how it was a very unplanned and not very wanted pregnancy it wouldnt have effected me so much if this were what was happening. But the doctor reassured me that everything was NORMAL and the baby was right where it needed to be proven by my 2 ultrasounds and that my HCG levels had doubled from 2 days prior when I had my original test. From that point on I was very excited and now have become completely obsessed with reading about what to expect for the next 7 months. My DB and his family woah are more elated than even I am, they've even started buying things. WHile I know the miscarriage rate is still very much here until the next 5 weeks... I've also read that being on MET greatly reduces the risk of miscarriages dramtically. So I will probably be overly paranoid until my 2nd trimester actually begins.
I wanted to tell all of you that there is hope. And I now know that Medicine, biology, METFORMIN and God work together. So keep trying don't give up. My life and my views have forever been changed by my small very unexpected miracle

But you have inspired me to stay on met. I'm working up to 1500mg. I will probably try 2000mg since I'm very insulin resistant, don't know yet. Thanks for sharing your story.
