My Mood: Points: 1,255.94 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 1,255.94 | Two months after starting MET, AF arrived!
I also have been taking vitamins but that has been for about a year and although I feel better it is defiantly the MET that got AF started!
Just wanted to let others know to keep strong it does work!

Glad to hear its getting a little better. | I've been on met for about a month the bloating is most annoying I think. Does it go away? I have about 10lbs to lose to be where I would like to be other say I'm fine. I hoped that met would even out the palying field for me since I workout alot and eat low carb and healthy. No major difference.

It does take a few months sometimes for AF to arrive, it took 3 months on Met (increase from 1000 to 2000mg) for me to finally ovulate on it and then AF to arrive. The very next cycle was the charm and now I'm 19 weeks PG! |

The first time i was on it, I was strict low carb (and at my heaviest at 125 at 5'4.5") and lost 16 lbs in 3 months. The second time was when my daughter was 6 months old, I was sort of strict but not as strict low carb and breastfeeding and I don't know how much I lost exactly, but got down to 107 when I got pregnant with my son. This time I started about 118, wasn't very strict low carb at all and got down to about 113 after about 3 months. Maybe it'll just take a couple more months? I don't know if that answers your question or not.

Before the met I did not have a period for about 10 months and had no clue what was going on. I was put on this and it did not really do much right away. After about 2 months of 1000mg I finally got a period and they have been pretty regular ever since. It has helped me stop gaining weight, now just need to loose some . It has not helped much with the hair but I'll take what I can get.

Sorry I have been MIA it's been a few crazy days for my sister, she is 7 months pg and has been in the hospital for 2 days. She started having labor pains on Monday and they were about 1 min. apart, they gave some stuff to stop the contractions but that was working so now they have her on magneium and antibotics plus 2 shot of steriods for my nephew so that he can develop his lungs a bit faster in case she gives birth. So its been a bit stressful, they have tested the fluids around her cervix and the test came back positive meaning that she can have the baby any moment. Sorry for the long story, please say a prayer for her and Jeremy.

My Mood: Points: 131.84 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 131.84 | Hello Ladies,
I am new to this site and wanted to thank all of you for sharing your experiences. I was just diagnosed with PCOS 3 days ago and started taking met the same day. I'm on 500mg for 2 weeks, then 1000 for 2 wks, then 1500 for 2 wks...then I don't know
I read a couple of you are taking provera or prometrium and don't know why...so here's one thing I do know!!!
Provera/prometrium thickens the lining of your uterus, which makes it an optimal environment for a fertilzed egg to implant. If you uterin wall is thin, a fertilized egg either won't implant..which it must in order to grow into a baby, OR it will implant (rarely) and you are at a high risk for early preg loss.
I had success with provera/clomid on my 3rd cycle with my first child 4yrs ago...no PCOS diagnosis. I got preggers 3 months after my delivery due to "spontanious" ovulation...my dr's were amazed!! So I've got 2 beautiful little girls..though I do NOT recommend pregnancies that close together! It's REALLY hard on your body.
Congrat's to all who are expecting and new mom's. GOOD LUCK |

I would recommend you stay on 500 for a few weeks at least. Usually, people need to be on higher doses but there are some nasty side effects so a gradual increase of dosage is recommended! |
