i love metformin, we went for our second ulrasound today at 5 weeks 5 days and our little bean was an embryo with a faint little heart beat. im so excited i know its early and anything can happen but i love my litttle bean so much and it made me feel really good to know that there was a heart beat. we have to go back next week so hopefully everything goes great.
babydust to everyone and stick with the metformin it totally worth it.

I'm not IR--tried Metformin but never responded, so I went back to BC.
Now I'm off BC and TTC. I'll go on Clomid in a month, unless we're successful before that.
Should I ask if I should go back on Metformin, again. I did stop upping the dosage because I was tired of the other symptoms (acne, hair), as well as the side effects. I never tried the time released Metformin either, though I was tired of the regular Metformin side effects....
Just curious about your successes! Thanks!

Thank you all for your stories! I am starting Met today and I am getting kind of nervous about it. But you all have really made me feel much better! Hopefully you can hear my success story soon!
well so far Metformin has not helped me with my hair problem and infact more hair is falling out than ever when I first started taking it my hair got thicker but than took a wrong turn lol so I am hoping it will take a right turn again as far as facial hair it has slowed down dont get as much and infact I had little sideburns they have disappeared.
I also have PCOS and i never had regular AF's. Maybe one every 5 months. I was put on Met 1700mg a day. And i have been on it for 4 months and so far i have had 2 28 day cycles and i O'd on cd 14. I never thought it would regulate me the way it did. Also i have lost 20lbs in 4 months thanks to the met formin. I am now 5'9 and weight 175 lbs. One thing though is that my acne had not got any better. We have been TTC for over 2 years and also my husband has sperm issues. IWe are both on fertilAid and i am hoping that that will fix his morphology issues. Anyways i just wanted to tell you ladies Yes the side effects are horrific! BUT stick through it and it will all ve with it in the end. I PROMISE!
I am glad to here all of the success stories, I started taking metformin about 3 weeks ago, I am currently taking 1000 mg a day and I am due to go up to the next dose of 15000 this weekend. I was diagnosed with PCOS in April by my gyno and she pretty much did nothing only progesterone to get my period. However she failed to tell me all the other stuff that goes along with PCOS. So I read on my own and decided to see and endocrinologist because I also have hypothyroidism. Hypothyroidism has a lot of the same symptoms. I am 32 4'6" and i weigh close to 200 pds, have extreme facial hair (wax every week and pluck in between) and I am starting to get really bad acne and I have never had it before even as a teen. I gained 70 of it in 3 years. I haven't gotten my period regularly in about 5 yrs. So needless to say I am looking forward to a change. Sorry so long needed to get that off my chest!
I am so happy to read all the success stories on here! They prompted me to ask my Dr for Met. I have been on it for about a week at 500 will up to 1000 this week. I honestly can say that I feel like a different person! I have more energy, not as hungry, just hoping that this is my miracle. I have been pregnant 4 times, had two early mc i ectopic and i mc at 14 weeks, baby's heart stopped at 12, hoping that we can get my body straightened out so just maybe someday my husband and I can have the baby we dream of!
Hi all just wanted to update and share my progress. I have been on Metformin since June. I'm up to 2000 mg per day and so far I have lost 20 lbs ( I have cut out juice almost completely and candy) and my labs show that my insulin has gone down from 151 to 19 YAY!!!!!!! (i dont know what the measurements are for insuline but its down!!!) So anyway i am going to continue taking met...hopefully I will lose some more weight and things will be completely normal by Christmas!!!! So hang in there ladies...

I have been on 1500mg since June 2008 and had my Fallopian tubes checked last week, this was it see if they were blocked. My tubes are fine and open and my pcos is nearly gone so said the doctor that looked at my ovaries! I am so pleased didnt know that pcos could clear up???! Shouldnt be long now for my very own bfp!!!
hi ladies! I'm excited for all of your success stories! I'm starting met this next week after being on it previously and having AF. Hopefully this time around I'll get AF again, AND ovulate so I can ttc sometime in 09! Blessings to you all!
Just wanted to share my little success story. I ovulated and got AF my first month off BCPs with a 32 day cycle after taking 1000mg of met for a month. This is the first time in over a decade! We were on met and clomid to conceive my daughter and are hoping to try a couple of months on met before going back to our fertility dr to TTC #2. While we may still need to go through fertility, it is definitely an encouraging sign. Has anyone ovulated and had AF one month and then not again after? I'm just hoping that it wasn't a fluke!
