hooray!! lol. welcome to the club July! Your doctor sounds very old and boring lol, i'd start searching for a different one who's more willing to work with you.
I have a doc appt on monday with my pcp who just came back from maternity leave. She doesn't know that i've stopped my bcp's or that i'm on met lol, the person who was taking her patients while she was out is the one that rx'd the met for me on reccomendation from my gyno. lol. neither of them know i'm not on the bcp's anymore.
Tiff don't give up! until Af hits with all her might its not over!! rub on the Prog cream and keep the evil witch at bay.

might be TMI- so uh I had some odd brownish blood spotting today. I have no idea what it was. its way too early to be implantation. could it be O spotting? I've never had it happen at this point in my cycle before. ERG my body is so confussing sometimes.

I'm still at work and actually have some paperwork to get done. blah I'll talk to you ladies tomorrow. nighty night

Hey ladies.. I disappeared for a few hours...

Just want to say Welcome to July! Is that July like Julie? Or July like the month? hehehe
As for your symptoms, those are classic PCOS... tell your doc I said... LOL @ I said... well you don't have to have 100 cysts to have PCOS. PCOS can be even 2 cysts on an ovary. I had only 3 on one ovary and 2 on another and I was diagnosed. My cycles are almost normal they usually do not go past 31 days. I am overweight however and it is difficult to lose weight. I don't usually ovulate on my own. I have slight hair growth above the lip that I get waxed!!! LOL And I used to have bad acne, but thanks to the Metformin the hair growth has slowed down the hair growth and the acne is non-existent! I also ovulated on my own after one month and got pregnant too. My doctor had said to give it six months, but it worked very quickly. Maybe because my PCOS symptoms were a little mild, so it didn't take much to regulate my hormones. I also never showed up as Insulin Resistant on Glucose Tolerance Tests, but my R/E says he gives all his PCOS patients Metformin because it is insulin related. If you would like your doc to speak to them... they are very well known in their field. The office was featured as the top 100 fertility doctors for the past 10 years... www.kofinasfertility.com

You can maybe have your doc consult with the R/E there... Dr. Brzechffa (the Z has no sound). He is very knowledgeable when it comes to PCOS and fertility overall. He would be able to tell your doc what hormone tests are important to run and when. And he is just a very nice, down to earth man. Which is why I can recommend your doctor to speak to him.

If all else fails with your doc, I would recommend getting a different doctor. There is a thread on here that has a list of great docs in almost everyone's area... I believe even in Amsterdam... not sure.. but check it out. It's on the home page of the forums... providers and doctors office list by location.

Again, welcome July... and you always have support here with us.

Lisa... I'm counting down until 11/7 when you test! Heyyy.. I believe that is also Dura's next appointment!!! Man, we are going to have an exciting week next week!

Faith... I took my LPN state board November 2008... only last year. I already had some college credits, so I am doing the online LPN to RN program with Excelsior College. Pretty much it's studying the work and doing CLEP exams for the credit. You then take a clinical and get tested. It is accredited by the National League of Nursing and is highly accredited at that! If you want to get other people's opinions on it... you can do a search on www.Allnurses.com I find a lot of information there on just about anything. Also go to www.advancenurses.com and sign up for the Advance LPN Magazine... it's free if you are a student.. and free once you get your license as a nurse. It's very helpful... and it's kind of nice getting nurse mail in my real mailbox every month.. .lol
For studying I strongly suggest Mosby's LPN Study Guide with practice exams. It practically went over everything that came up on my State Board! You should do fine if you get this book! Start studying a little bit at a time with this... and I'm sure you will pass!

Tiff - Hold in there... you just never know. We like to be optimistic. But if it is AF, maybe you ovulated much earlier. In any case.. maybe it's not a bad idea to give the injects a break. Like I told you.. the injects did nothing for me... I felt like they were screwing my hormones up more than good. Also, it is best to be monitored while taking the injects, ya know. That way the doc can pinpoint your ovulation date and also make sure no damage is done to your ovaries. I think the Met and Soy are a good combo though. If this is not the BFP cycle, don't sweat it.. just jump back on and stay up with your temping so you can make sure of your O date... and keep taking your Met... you can try the Soy if you like, it can't hurt... it's Soy! (smile) You just have to decide on what days and what dose you want to start with. And you know we have your back! (Big Hug)

Well woke up and no bleeding at all! I swear to the devil this AF is messing with my mind! I just dont know...It couldnt be implantation could it? It was red..Maybe (TMI) i got scratched or cut myself shaving... i dont know..it might be her..im not sure. but i got a good cry out yesterday and well i figure if it is her ok if not yay, the hard part is over though because im not as excited. Im going to do my last injects just because i cant do soy yet. It takes like 2 weeks for them to get things to us when we order online and they do not have soy tablets onbase. so its my only option or sit this cycle out and i refuse. I will order the soy now though so if next cycle fails then im prepared. I am confident that if i have a few cycles in a row where i o then i will get my bfp. Nothing else is wrong with us! Well im goin so cool right. Then tonight i HAVE to get homework done and am babysitting for DHs boss. Fun Fun oh and
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!

oooh tiff i know you dont know me well enough yet but i feel for you girl!! I used to think that I would be so excited if I could just get AF once a month ( women with naturally healthy hormones just DONT UNDERSTAND that one lol) and now I curse her for stealing my dreams every month! there is still hope!!! can I just say that my best friend just recently got preggo and she was monitoring her everything and her implantation was pink/red so even though its not common, its a possiblity!!!

Thank you for the welcome shadow

And thank you for the advice on looking for a doctor on this website Ebony! I figured I wouldn't find one so I never searched it but I just did and found an e-mailadres from a doctor here in Amsterdam who does research on pregnancy chances with PCOS women on metformin. I asked her for advice regarding my diagnosis and if she knew a specialized doctor who could help me. I'm hoping she'll e-mail and tell me she can see me Than hopefully she'll have me try metformin too, since that seems to be her thing.

I don't think it would help to have my doctor (what is it called, a doctor you go see for everything and whose job it is to decide whether you should see someone specialized, is it a general practicioner? If you would translate the Dutch word you'd get house doctor ) talk to the doc you mentioned. My doc is stubborn, old, I doubt he even speaks English and he would think it very extravagant (in a bad way) of me to come up to him and tell him to have a word with a doctor on the other side of the Atlantic. I usually try to talk to the female doctor and she'll pretty much let me go see who I want to, so I'll have to play it through her.

And actually the name isn't July, it's Eveline (A-vu-lean-uh) but my third name is Juliėtte and I like to use July (as in the month) as a nick name.

Happy halloween ladies! We don't celebrate the holiday here but we have a similar thing on Nov. 11th.

I want to wish good luck to all of you who are in the 2 WW, are preggers and have an appointment coming up and to the women (like me) who are in the pre-2-ww and don't have much going on

July- You don't even have to have cysts at all to have PCOS. I was diagnosed on my outward symptoms; weight, rapid weight gain in my charts, mild facial hair growth, severe acne at 35, and my blood tests. I have regular cycles (28-30 days) and I have never been officially checked for cysts although possibly spotted during an MRI on my back/hip 5 years ago but was never told (found it when looking through old paperwork) Was diagnosed after 20 months of TTC with no luck, three months of blood tests and three months, confirmed, of no ovulation. Was put on met in late August and the most noticable for me was that my skin has cleared up. I was also put on clomid (because I am 35 my doctor did not want to waste time and is being very agressive) and I ovulated the first month on it and my progesterone numbers are outstanding now that I am on 100mg of clomid and 1500mg of met.

Yes, I actually know some RNs that worked in the hospital with me that graduated from there. They said it was convenient, but tough. The College Network has one also, but they actually send their students to Excelsior and another State Univeristy to do the classes.

Whenever you are not sure about the accredidation of a program, just look it up on NLN (National League of Nursing).. they are the accredidation agency for nursing programs. I believe Excelsior comes up under the State of New York. The school is located in Albany. And they have been doing the program for over 20 years accredited. They were awarded the High Standards of Excellence award from NLN.

I'm at my grandmother's house. Can you believe her computer is faster than mine!? LOL It's lightening fast! No fustration at all!

BTW, my blood pressure has been a little elevated. It's been a little scary, it's not drastically high, but when you are preggo it is usually very low. It's been on the elevated side for about two weeks. Called the doc and they said if it gets worse to go the emergency room. I pray I don't develop pre-eclampsia later in my pregnancy.

My BP was 144/88 this morning shortly after I woke up. During the day it stays in the 128 - 134 range... the bottom number usually stays low in the 65 - 77 range. But this morning that 144 indicates hypertension. When I'm not pregnant, it's usually at 121 - 130. And the bottom number never goes beyond 82. I'm not going to have any salt and make sure I drink plenty of water. The doctor said he will follow up with me on my Tuesday appointment.

Well I have done some research on the web to ease my frustration. I have found out that implantation blood can be red!!! The color depends on how long it takes for the blood to exit the body. The reason most woman dont even notice implantation blood is if its a small enough amount it is very unconcentrated by the time it gets all the way down your vagina. I was touching the very opening of my cervix when I found the blood yesterday..SO it gives me some hope though i did take a digital test today and it said no. Im still holding out and praying that maybe just maybe it was implantation bleeding and im not out yet. Do i sound stupid lol? I am hopeing that my test said no because a. i took it at evening time. and B. it is only 11dpo. if ovulation occured when i thought it did. Im pretty sure it did but who knows. Im pretty sure it did happen though mostly because of the ewcm. I think its a good sign though that im not cramping, nore are my nips sore anymore. We will just wait and see lol.

I have a question about temping>>>> Ive read that post ovulation temps should be in the mid to high 97's. Im 7DPO according to an OPK but my temps are still in the high 96's. I didnt start charting until after O but I cant imagine I was origionally in the 95's!!! Is it possible I got a positive OPK but didnt really O? I have heard that OPK's are less reliable for PCOS sufferers. I will be SOOO upset if I thought all this time that I had O'd and I didnt.. the other thing that is confusing too is that I have been using my progesterone cream for 6 days now. shouldnt the prog alone have raised my temp?
