I'm 27. I'm not TTC right now but I would like to have a child sometime in the next 5 years, and I am worried about my fertility. I have been told that even though my hormone levels are normal I'm probably not ovulating... I don't understand how this could be. My periods are every 38-40 days. What is an insulin test? Is it the same thing at a glucose tolerance test because I also had that done and all was ok. Anyone in the Portland, Oregon area that can reccomend a good doc?
Hey... welcome again Oregon... If you look a few pages back when you posted a couple of days ago... I gave you a link of 3 fertility clinics in Portland. It's a start. The GTT and the Insulin levels in the blood are two different tests.

I too am in nursing school! I graduate April 27, 2010... woo hoo! I'm not waiting until I graduate either. At this point if I got pregnant I would have the baby after I graduate... and with as long as it could take to GET pregnant I wanted to start trying ASAP. I have been on Metformin 2,000 mg for 2 months now and my acne is completely cleared up, no excess hair loss and I have had periods every 33 days! I have an appointment this morning to look at my ovaries again. I love Metformin!

Hey ladies! Just got home from taking my final exam for this term now i have some cleaning of the house to tend too. Still no Af..but i didnt test soo. dont know about a bfp or not. I just wish sumthing would happen!
Kellie-Oh honey im so sorry to hear that! It sucks your mom isnt doing a good job at being supportive. I think it was wise of you and Dh to wait till you were ready and could financialy support a child. My Dh grew up poor too. His senior year he was living in a car wiht his mom dad and brother! We too are trying to be financially ready. I hope things look up for you!

Kels... I'm sorry miss lady. I know how you are feeling. I felt like that every time a doctor gave me MORE bad news. But at one point I finally felt that God wouldn't think of letting me leave this world without having a child. Just think of the little miracles He is performing. Though they sound terrible to you... you may now finally know why you haven't been getting preggo. You had a beautiful O last cycle and bd'ed like crazy. This may be the reason why. And just to think, it's not something that cannot be fixed if needed. Not everyone's cervix is the same size... so not all catheters are the same size. They make some smaller than others. You may simply need a smaller one. And if that's what's hindering your conceiving... once they find a small one, maybe they can also use that size to do an IUI for you when you O in your cycle.
If it's something they can change surgically, then I would go for it. It wouldn't take long for you to heal, maybe a couple of months.... and during that time you can continue your Met. When the doc says it's ok, you can then add on your Clomid again. I see it a blessing that God finally helped you to find out what was the matter that needs to be fixed. Imagine the frustration that I went through for years of TTC... I tried for 6 YEARS! I finally now found out that I have blood clotting disorder that I would have never known if God didn't lead me to research and find a great physician. And God has led you to a great physician... she seems to care as much as you do about your fertility... and that's a great thing. I don't feel sad about your news at all... I feel happy... happy because now you can start a plan... and now you are that much closer to getting your BFP! There are some women who's insurance doesn't even cover all of these diagnostic tests that you are able to get. Imagine how they may never know the WHY's or the HOW's. You are blessed. And blessed to have a husband who is supportive of you... and us... we support you. Your mother is just scared... and when people are scared they look to blame someone. She will be fine. You just lean on
God and us. We will be your rocks!

Oh Ebony lol! I havent taken them! But i think im getting Af and im not upset, because that means the shots worked, I oed, and I can try again as soon as she is here! I always hoped id get pregnant in Dec! That way my baby would be a fall baby I Am praying for you Charisse! I wish I could make you poas NOW! lol. Next cycle im going to temp every single day! Im also going to get on a regular sleep pattern so my temps are not funky, and since it has been cold outside i no longer need a fan blasting on my face and i dont use a heater so i should be good! Hello ladies.. I want everyone to remember to keep your Faith and never give up. Your PCOS should not control you! Don't let it win! Do not give up easily... give it the biggest fight it could ever have! Your determination has brought you this far... let it take you to victory mountain! Climb high... succeed ladies! We all deserve it! But you have to believe that... don't say.. why me?... don't say when me?... say YES ME!
It will happen. God opened the wombs of Rebecca and Hannah! He heard their cries...and even when it took some time... He didn't forget them... He answered their cries. Cry to Him! Not feeling sorry for yourself... but with the love you have and let Him know you will love that child as much as He loves you.
Lisa... just give yourself a break... trying hard... is very frustating and emotional. I wasn't really thinking that the month I got preggo was going to be the month. I never O'd before on my own. I just said I will try in December... but I just continued what I was doing to track my cycle and to take my Met on a regular basis. Like I said the trying was driving me crazy with all the ovulation inducing Meds before.... I was driving my husband crazy too... because everything seemed "too planned." The romance of TTC was pretty much gone. I was doing it like a robot. Maybe that's how your DH is feeling... because my husband was feeling that way too. And then so did I after some time.
Charisse... I'm feeling very optimistic about your chart. I would go ahead and test because no one can tell you not to... LOL Girl, we have all been there... no one could tell me otherwise when I REALLY want to. Go ahead and test. But if it's not a BFP yet... don't fret... because you will only be 10dpo tomorrow. I've taken an HPT before at 12dpo and no +... only to get one the very next day. So don't stop taking your PC until you have at least reached 14dpo, and have tested just to be sure.

Hey to all the ladies that I didn't get to type a personal for... with all the typing I did... I forgot half of what I read an hour ago... LOL
AFM: I don't know how da heck all of us fit in the exam room, but we did. I made sure my dad stayed to the back left area...because they were using a vaginal wand for the u/s.
So doc showed us the bean... and I couldn't believe how much it grew! It looked like 3 times the size it was the last time... and the Heartbeat was just as strong... the doc said it was 150 bpm! The bean had little arms and legs... like really little... it looked something like my ticker... not that clear though.. but I was like ... look at my baby's big head! LOL My whole family was excited.. and so was hubby. I will scan the pic and post it here in a bit. My BP was a little bit lower at the appt. It was 130/82. So I was happy with that. I wonder if it had anything to do with me cutting out the Iron pills. Well I was told to keep monitoring it... if it goes up to let the doc know ... and he may need to prescribe a BP lowering drug. I also will have to get a cerclage because I had a LEEP procedure before when they removed a piece of my cervix. To make sure it is competent they will give me the stitch (cerclage) for my pregnancy. I have to get it at 12 weeks they said.... I go back in two weeks... I'll be 11 weeks then.
They took about 5 tubes of blood and I felt dizzy. I didn't gain 13 lbs like I thought I did... I only gained 7 lbs. from my last visit. My doc tried to tell me to stop the Met, but I refused because the R/E said it was something I could continue taking... and I'm not trying to lose this one just because of discontinuing Met.

OMG Eb! Its so cute! I hate to admit this, but when my bestfriend at home showed me her sono I only felt jealousy...but when I see a cysters I feel so proud and happy for them! So much love! I know that might sound wierd but I guess cuz we all are going through this together i can put m jelouesy aside! Im so happy for you and ur Dh. I have been back on met sicne I found out about my bf...how long ago was that? Im upping my dosage to 1500. Because thats what i was on with the er but when i ran out the new doc gave me reg met and i was only on 2 a day. Charisse!!! I cant wait for you to test lol. See all those gassy feelings might be a good thing! Im almost positive im getting AF I have had some spotting when i wipe. Srry if tmi but made dh bd with me so Af will come sooner

Girl... I have no idea... I can only imagine it is though... they are putting stitches in the cervix! I hope they can put me to sleep... lmao! Girl... if I'm worried about a little needle in the cervix.. what the heck am I gonna do with a big head and some shoulders coming out of there????
As for your PC... yes... keep taking it to at least 14dpo..I would retest on 12dpo and 15dpo.
