Question Is metformin supposed to work so quickly?

So, I've been taking met for about a month now. I'm on a low dosage currently (500 mg day), and I was wondering if it's possible for it to jump start your period lets say in a week? Seven days after I started it, I had a period, (odd since I couldn't even recall the last time having one) grant it it was only for 3 days. Before taking met, I do believe my uterus would shed once in a while for the bleeding only lasted for about a day and wasn't that heavy, but there was something different about this experience. That was last month in December and I had started on the 17th (my pd) and it was overwith on the 19th and all this week for a few days or so I had been bloated so badly it was just about unbearable. I finally started feeling some relief yeserday...but I guess my other question is, do you feel these type of symptoms a week before your period? And can my period already be regulated although I haven't been on Met for long? I also have a TMI question also, I experienced something that I thought might have been implantation bleeding, (warning gets very gross here) I had went to the bathroom and wiped and I had some light brown/light pink/glossy looking discharge that I was somewhat puzzled with until I did some research online about it. It only stuck around for an hour or so and has been gone ever since. After that was when I started feeling the extreme bloating for a few days. I took a preg test and it said negative. Any Ideas guys? Sorry the post is so long.

When I started taking met the first time. I started my cycle about a week later too. I thought "wow that stuff works quick". I didn't think to much about it. I just thought it was great to finally have a regular cycle.

Thank you for clearing that up! It's odd though because I thought it would take a few months...and my other issue i don't know

I'm an odd case of PCOS where I get my period almost too much! Anyway, on met I was regular as clockwork again-every 34 days. I'm back on it now to ttc, and hopefully it will work like a charm again!

Good luck Danyell138. I just started Metformin a few days ago and it would be so promising to hear another success story.

well, i'm not trying to regulate my cycle really but I just started met two days ago...so i've taken 2 500mg pills, and I've lost 5lbs in two days...after not seeing my weight loss move in almost 3 months...
