Default metformin for two weeks

i've now been on met for two weeks. I started with one 500 mg pill in the evening and increased to one additional in the morn. the side affects i have noticed are extreme nausea. i was sick as a dog the first night i started and sick again the day i increased my dose. while this is manageable, its really bothersome. does anyone have any suggestions. i also have heard that many PCOS women have a history of anorexia/bullumia (as do i), so this is extremely scairy.
thanks

I would try taking the met about 1/2 hour after you eat. My perscription said not to eat with it, but my fertility specialist said if the nausea was too much that I could eat with it...hope you feel better!

My RE (a published pcos specialist) says to take met with meals, as does the patient leaflet that comes with met. I've been on the full 2000 mg of Met now for about two months and the side affects have subsided for the most part. I always take mine right after I eat. The only thing that bothers me now is too much cheese.

Hang in there!
