Default Metformin and Vitex?

I was wondering if anyone has some advice!

For the past three months I have been O'ing thanks to 100mgs of Clomid, and I've never O'd on my own. My question is this....

This month, I am having to go without the Clomid to Ovulate....

I'm hoping that my body might have been jumpstarted by the three months of regulated hormones and the 1.5 months of constant Metformin use.

Has anyone had success with Vitex and Met combo? Is there any reason that I shouldn't use the two together? Will one inhibit the other? Furthermore, has anyone had success with this combo?

Thanks!

I have been on Met for over 3 years, and I have been taking Vitex since August. I'm taking Vitex to try to increase my progesterone levels, which were very low, but I'm not TTC. I am waiting on blood test results (had them done two days ago) to see if there's been any change in my levels. I have been ovulating every month (I was before taking Vitex, though). I haven't noticed any complications with taking both together. My cycles have been erratic in terms of length (for instance, this past cycle was a perfect 28 days, with ovulation on the 15th day; the one before that was 43 days, with ovulation on day 34); however, I am 48 and perimenopausal.

Here's an article about the use of Vitex with PCOS you may find helpful:

Default a little help

I'm taking vitex and what I have read and learned about vitex is that you can take it with clomid and met because vitex has no side effects...

Hope this can help

I have been taking metformin for approx. 4-5 months, and started vitex in the middle of a 81 day cycle, 2 cycles ago. I ovulated that cycle on CD 70 and this cycle I just finished, I O'd CD 30. These were good, strong O's, and I almost never O...as in I can go for over a year without ovulating/having a period. So far, no pregnancy, but I'd call O'ing 2 cycles in a row a success. HTH!
