Default Metformin vs. Natural Progesterone cream/pills?????

Hi there, Im new to this site and have PCOS. I am a 'granola' girl and want to be as toxin free as possible.

Is anyone else taking natural progesterone vs Metformin? I am very afraid to take metformin for a few reasons but one because the FDA hasn't approve the use of it for PCOS...it's only approved for Diabetes. My doctor sure didn't go into much detail when writing out the prescription. At the time I was sort of in shock because of the diagnosis that I didn't ask many questions.

It just doesn't set well with me to take a synthetic hormone (b.c) to mask the problem or a drug created for another purpose to fix this. I know the docs say Metformin works but what are they (Drs) not telling us? Im in search of true hormonal balance.

Thanks!
