My Mood: Points: 7,221.02 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 7,221.02 | Metformin w/ exercise Okay, I know that met causes GI problems, and luckily I didn't really suffer any issues when I started taking it a few months ago (I take the XR, I've heard that helps). However, I've been hitting the gym pretty regularly this summer and I've noticed that if I've done a lot of cardio work, I am literally running into the bathroom when I get home. Anyone else have this happen after they work out? Any way to avoid it? It creates a "time limit" for me when I work out, and I don't really like that. I've had to skip weights & cut work outs short lately because my tummy is too upset to continue...
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

My Mood: Points: 9,192.32 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 9,192.32 | Are you eating at all before you go to the gym? I have been doing some crazy cardio and I have noticed that I feel much better if I have something with fiber before I work out. I don't eat much, because I don't want to work out on a full stomach, but I usually have a fiber one bar. It gives me some fiber to keep me full, but also gives me some good carbs to give me energy and burn off during my cardio workout! I know that if I don't eat anything at all before I work out, I feel a little woozy and my stomach starts to rumble! I hope this helps some, good luck!

My Mood: Points: 327.67 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 327.67 | I havn't noticed any upset stomach, etc. during or after working out. I tend to drink alot of water throughout the day and during exercise. Not sure if you're able to empty before you go work out. Hope this gets better for you! I'd stay away from greasy food or high carb snacks. The fiber bar sounds like a good option to try! Good luck!

My Mood: Points: 7,221.02 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 7,221.02 | Hmmmm....I didn't think about the empty stomach workouts as the reason, but that could be it. I'm notorious for waking up and heading to the gym w/out eating breakfast first (eating too early in the morning has never been for me...I need an hour or so before I'm ready).
I'll have to pay more attention to that. Thanks ladies!
