I find that with taking Metformin that I have difficulty drinking enough water. Actually, water has a particular "taste" that prevents me from getting all of it down. I consistently find myself surrounded by half-empty bottles of water that I couldn't finish (I'm looking at one right now). I've tried adding sugar free drink mixes to my bottled water and they're just two sweet for my taste and it makes it worse.
I like to take my Met and my Spiro with anything except water. Seems like you can taste the meds when you wash them down with water. I hope this is what you mean...
I usually try to drink them down with Iced Tea. I make home-brewed and then add Splenda to sweeten. Once in awhile I'll do juice or milk. Way better that way!

I know what you are talking about, the water has a kind of metallic taste that is weird. I have the same thing, water bottles 1/2 full surrounding me.

I get the same thing. I usually take it with milk or try it with iced tea. I find that when i take it with water i get a weird taste in my mouth.

I too have a very hard time drinking water while on met. No matter if I take the pills with water or anything else. I can't handle the "smell" or "taste" of water the rest of the day. blech.
