I am on Met and thinking of starting an anti-depressant b/c I am having pblms w/ depression. But not to the point where I desperatley need an anti-depressant. My depression was sparked by Yasmin and now on Nuvaring, still not feeling THAT much better. I am stopping Birth control after this month. I heard that wellbutrin is good. How are wellbutrin and metformin together? I am curious. Last year I took prozac and that caused me to have lack of orgasm. Now, I am not sure what to take and I heard wellbutrin may not cause that. Also I do not want to gain weight, does that make u? I gained weight on BC and do NOT want any more. I want to FEEL normal again, anyone have experiences w/ Wellbutrin as well as being on Met??

I take met and Wellbutrin. I haven't had any issues with weight gain, but then...I've always been a thin cyster, so it's hard to say.

I also couldn't orgasm with prozac (or effexor, or celexa), but it's find with Wellbutrin.

Another consideration: BCPs. I was on Demulen for something like 7 years. My new doc switched me to Alesse, and it definetly helped with the depression. Something to consider in case you do want to stay on BCPs.

I have been on Wellbutrin for18 months with no problems. I've been on Met for half of that time with no interaction between the two. BTW, Wellbutrin is safe in pregnancy and nursing if that pertains to anyone.

I take wellbutrin and metformin.
I have had no problems.
It's actually been way easier losing weight on them together.

I really worry about going off my meds if I got pregnant.
My Dr. said wellbutrin was safe, but I am still worried, I don't want to take any risks.
