I did not know where else to go, as everything I look up involving Metformin inducing ovulation, reverted back to women who suffer from PCOS.

I am a 23 year old female, who was recently tested for PCOS but was not diagnosed because everything came back within normal ranges. I have not had a period in 4 months though, probably due to weight, as I am 5'11" and about 310. I am not diabetic either, but my ob/gyn prescribed Metformin for me, and said that it would help regulate my cycles and increase my fertility.

I was wondering if any of you have ever heard of someone being put on Metformin for these reasons, but without PCOS and/or Type 2 Diabetes?

You might want to ask your doctor to tell you SPECIFICALLY how s/he feels the Metformin will benefit (ie What action will it possibly take in your body to 'increase fertility?)
