when i was on clomid, i actually felt a twinge. i wound up pg, so that might have been o.
the best way to tell takes a while. every morning you take your temperature. if you o your temps follow a particular pattern, if you don't o, they look like a mountain range when you plot them on a graph (mine looked like this before clomid). when i was ttc i used www.fertilityfriend.com to chart my temps. they give a much more detailed explanation than i have given.
lots of luck,
hannah

I recommend the book "Taking charge of your fertility" by Toni Weschler, it's fullof info. Another give away is your cervical mucous. If it resembles egg white - ie clear, and stretchy it indicates you are ovulating.
Good luck!

I hope the EWCM (egg white cervical mucus) is a sign that you are O'ing. As a warning, I got that plenty of non-O cycles too.
I think temping is one of the best ways to tell if you have actually ovulated, but you have to do it for most of the cycle to know. OPKs can tell you that you are going to O, but can be wrong, especially for PCOS ladies. And CM isn't always a good indicator on its own.
I'd definitely recommend the book and website mentioned by previous posters.
Good luck!
Bob
