Default Milk and Insulin Resistance

I've been looking into what kind of milk should I be drinking if I have IR? I was going buy some milk to get it going into my system since it's recommened, my question is what is the best kind of milk, I noticed that some milks have sugar and carbs in it...is this bad? I got the 1% and have been driking it for a couple of days now.

All milk naturally has sugar in it. 1% or skim is best due to the fat content of the others. I don't know about soy or other kinds of milk but my nutritionist has me drinking skim milk so it can't be too bad. :-)

I drink soy milk because I can't stand drinking skim or low fat milk, and will only drink whole milk. I love the very vanilla in my cereal!

since I only use milk for cereal because I dont drink a glass of it and my DH doesnt like a lot of dairy, I get the Hood Low Carb version or Lite Soy. It has less fay, less carbs, and less sugar. Regular cow milk can raise insulin. But if you do drink it, I would go for the skim, I like skim and its better for you. I just wouldnt drink a lot of during the day, one serving. I try to get in 3 servings of calcium, which I consider my low carb milk in my cereal, low carb yogurt cup, and a piece of snack cheese to be those 3 servings.

My cde told me to drink skim, or fat free milk. It's worked out well for me.

My doc told me to avoid soy milk/cheese so I stick with the 1%.

Just to let you all know that if you have thyroid issues, you need to avoid soy at all costs. It will make your thyroid problems worse (as in, there's no sense in taking your thyroid meds).

I drink 1% or skim as the nutritionists and the docs have always told me this is the best.

Soy also puts estrogen into your body and if you are not ovulating, you are already estrogen dominant (no progesterone produced)
