Hello, Im moving to milwaukee....is there anyone out there who can recommend a doctor in the area to handle PCOS? I would greatly appreciate it....I am in the chicago area now and it was hard enough here to find someone....but I am hoping and praying that someone there is interested in this condition and not just RE issues either.

Don't know if you're still checking this thread, but I've heard really good things about Dr. Beth Lalande. She's in practice at St. Luke's Hospital. She's ratest as the best in the area, so she's really tough to see, especially for new patients. Call and schedule right away. I wasn't able to keep my appointment, so I haven't met her yet. The schedule around 4 months out for new patients.

Dr. Rakowski is at the new Prospect Medical Commons building at Prospect and North Avenue in Milwaukee. She is listed as a family practice doctor but I've been seeing her for 8 years as my GYN.

When I decided to TTC, she quickly diagnosed me with PCOS and guided me through everything I needed to do to get to where I am now... 3 days from giving birth to my first baby. It took almost 2 years but that's because I wanted to try treatment without medication for the first year. We worked together to get my PCOS under control. I have a good friend who also sees Dr. Rakowski for PCOS treatment. She isnt TTC but I know her health is improving as a result of Dr. Rakowski's recommendations.

I've been seeing an OB during my pregnancy and I really look forward to returning to Dr. Rakowski.

Treatment: regular exercise and limiting carbs; prenatal vit, zinc CD1-14; CoQ10, B-Complex w/ B-12, vit C and sometimes fish oil.
Vitex agnus-castus (Chaste Berry) starting 01/03/2006.
Metformin 1500 mg daily as of March 2006.
