i am looking for a good gynecologist in the minneapolis, minnesota or surrounding areas. I am fairly positive that i have pcos since i have several of the systems.
i'm overweight, skin problems, hair in strange areas, mother has pcos, father is diabetic, and i have had my period every 3 months for a far back as i can remember. until recently that is,
my most recent period was before christmas!!

I have had 2 bad experiences recently with gynecologists in my area.

then i asked doctor #1 about it, he told me "yeah you probably do have it, a lot of women do." and blamed it all on my weight.

doctor #2 told me is all they do for pcos is put you on birth control if you want to get pregnant and help you ovulate if you do not! he seemed to think it was no big deal that i havent had a period for nearly 5 months!!

i'm so frustrated! i know i have something wrong with me i just dont know where to find a good doctor!

I've seen two RE's in the twin cities. I would really recommend you get an RE vs a gyno. Lots of OB/GYNS just don't keep up to date on the PCOS medical updates.

Most recently, I've seen Lisa Erickson at the Center for Reproductive Medicine on Chicago Avenue near Abbott Northwestern Hospital. I really, really liked her. The other RE I saw didn't seem to want to treat me as a PCOS case unless we were TTC.
