Miscarriage Length Question - Seems like it's over and then I start bleeding again
I had a miscarriage at 5 weeks 4 days that started last Monday (Feb 21st) - I expelled tissue twice that day and had pretty heavy bleeding for the next 3 days - it slowly decreased by Friday when I thought it was over. Then Saturday had another bout of cramping and bleeding and then again today. With my other miscarriages (have had 3 of them - ranging from 4.5 to 6.5 weeks), I've just bled continuously and then it was over - I've never had it start and stop like this. My BETA last Friday was 173 - so I have to have another BETA this Friday until it gets down below 5. I'm assuming I must have more tissue to pass before this will stop - ugh!
So, my question is, has this happened to anyone else - the stop and start thing and how long did it last? My RE is opposed to doing D&C's (and I don't want one either) - so I hope this will be over soon without further measures.

Websissy - I'm sorry I don't have any answers for you, but wanted to just give you some support.

I'm so sorry {{{{HUGS}}}} W/ my 3rd loss, I think I bled for about 2 weeks or so until by beta was below 5. W/ my 4th loss, I had 4 methotrexate shots (2 shots/2 x's) & I bled for about a month. I do know that w/ my 3rd loss, I did start, then spot, heavy, spot, nothing, spot, heavy, spot, nothing. It was horrible for the 2 weeks, every day was different.
I think it makes it worse when it goes on forever...makes the healing process that much worse.

My loss was in the second trimester, so I don't have any answers. Just wanted to let you know that I'm very, very sorry for all of your losses.

With my early loss, I bled strangely, somewhat lightly, for over two weeks. I think some got reabsorbed, which is common. If you get worried, call the nurse. They can tell you when to give up and come in to be seen. Sometimes the hormones just don't straighten out on their own for a long time. I hope you're finished soon and can start to heal.

websissy I was also on the Oct mommy board with you and I m/c on 2~14 @ 5w 6d. I was bleeding for over a week then spotting for a few days but just stopped passing small "clots" this week. As of 3~1 my #'s were still at 15 so I have to have another Beta. I am so sorry for your loss.
