well this is very interesting. I assume the insuline resistance was diagnosed based on the oral glucose tolerance test + insulin? Also how many different results of E2 do you have? What were the values? Please include the CD of the test.
Was PCOS diagnosed by ultrasound? Are you treated by RE?
What day of your cycle do you ovulate? It is very unusual that you can spontaneously ovulate with a low estradiol level. Estradiol is produced mainly by the growing dominant follicle. When the levels sustain a level of 200 for 50 hours, it is a signal for gonadotropin release and LH triggers ovulation.
I do not want to question the approach of your doctor but this does sound very strange. Hence I want to be sure you had all the blood work mentioned done.
