Unhappy Misdiagnosis

I am not sure if this is the correct forum or not, but I found out a month ago I was misdiagnosised. Twenty years ago my endocrinologist told me I had pcos, I have recently been told this diagnosis was incorrect.
I have prolactinemia, which is an abnormality of the pituatary gland which causes my body to think I am breast feeding. The symptoms are quite similar. My new Doctor did the correct blood tests and thinks he can correct the problem with medication.

It is mind boggling to think I went twenty years thinking I had pcos.

Wow, 20 years?

Your post caught my attention because my doctor originally thought I had hyperprolactinemia and maybe a pituitary adenoma (which is treatable with medication usually). But when the MRI of my pituitary gland came back clean, they chalked my problems up to PCOS.

I'm glad they finally figured it out! So, you should be "back to normal" soon? how long do you have to take medication for?
