I am just finishing my first week on the OrthoEvra patch and I am in misery. I thought this was going to be so great, but I am having wicked side effects... I have had almost a constant headache, stomach problems and breakthrough bleeding.

I was on Ortho-Tri-Cyclen with no problems whatsoever. I switched to the patch on my RE's recommendation. Also, we are going to be traveling a lot in the next few months to pick up our son from Russia and I thought this would make things easier given all the time changes, etc...

Has anyone stuck it out on the patch and found that the side effects dissipated after a few weeks? I can't stand this misery....

I'm sorry that you are so miserable. I have no personal experience of the patch, but just thought I'd let you know what I've heard from health professionals on the use of the patch. It may take a few months for you to adapt to the change (like all medication changes)and it also doesn't work for all women. All medication is administered according to weight, so it will work better on slim women than heftier women. I have no idea what your weight is so please don't take offense to the weight thing. Just thought I'd let you know, if you didn't already.
