Question Missed Periods

Hi,

I really hope someone might have gone through this or can give me some insight.

I started lowcarbng and taking metformin for over a year now. I've lost 35 lbs and everything was going smoothly. I exercise 3-4 times a week. I eat right, take my meds, am losing weight, etc.

Then all of a sudden I haven't gotten a period in 2 months!! Coincidently, I am also stalled in my weight loss ever since I haven't gotten a period.

I thought if I was doing all the right stuff this was supposed to straighten out??

Has anyone else experienced this??

Default sort of

I have had a similar experience, when I lost about 20 lbs, was exercising and doing the right stuff and my periods stopped for about 4 months. I've read that if you miss 3 or 4 in a row you should see a doctor, so that's what I did. My hormones are out of whack, the progesterone is too high, which stopped my periods. Maybe with diet & exercise it takes time for your body to adjust to things. I don't know.

So now that you went to the Dr are your periods back to normal and are you now losing weight again?

I went to the Dr already but at the beginning of the month so I was just going on my second month without them. I am waiting on my app't with a endocrinologist.

However, I brought in bloodwork results with me from my last endo app't before my insurance switched over and my periods had stopped. The Dr said everything was within normal range!!!
So it's very frustrating for me!!!
