I have been on 2000mg of Met for 3 months now. On the 19th July I had my first 'proper' period since before Christmas!
Last night I was struck with an excrutiating pain low on my left side which seemed to radiate down my thigh to my knee. I called my doctor's medical health line after suffering for a few hours with no improvement. He decided that he should see me.
After examining me etc. he diagnosed Mittelschmertz syndrome, which apparently occurs at time of ovulation!!! He did an ovulation test which he said shows that ovulation is about to happen! Oh my Goodness ... could it be that my body is actually starting to work!
The doctor gave me some pills and told me that the pain should subside in the next few hours ... this morning I feel fine, no pain or tenderness and I'm really excited that the Met is doing it's job!
Has anyone ever experienced the same thing?

Kind of like period pains except sharper ... if that makes sense ... it was weird to feel it on just one side too. It's the first time I had heard of it too.
I bet you were panicing!! I am one of these people where I get a headache and I worry and worry until I have convinced myself that its a tumour (nothing trivial for me!!), glad to hear your ok, I bet all these women who ovulate every month with no drama and no thought would wonder why we actually look forward to getting a period!
My friends all say the same thing - that they would love it if they got few or no periods.
anyway, I hope your lucky this time, fingers crossed
