Default mittelschmerz pain

Hi everyone!

I just got diagnosed with PCOS about a month ago, but i'm sure i've had it at least since i was 14-15... i just remembered an incident that happened when i was around 15 or 16, and i was wondering if it was maybe connected to PCOS.

I was home alone and suddenly a little ache i'd had in my stomach all day began to hurt so badly i fell off my chair and had to crawl into bed. i called my mom and had her take me to the Dr, who told me i was suffering from mittelschmerz, which just meant there was a pain in my ovary during ovulation.

now i'm wondering if maybe other women with PCOS have mittelschmerz?

I have had this all my life since I was 14, in varying degrees of severity/painfulness. It is often called that, but I think it should be called something else for women who have PCOS, because I think alot of us can have it throughout our cycles, especially if we are really ovulating.
But, if you are ttc it is a good thing to get it checked out if you might be in the early stages of pregnancy, because it could be a sign of an ectopic pregnancy. Or if you have fever, vomiting, upset stomach, or diarrhea (TMI), if its only on the right side, because your appendix is right about your right ovary typically. I dismissed my appendicitis for the ovarian pain for a week before I realized "Uh, I'm getting sicker, I think I need to go to the ER".
Welcome by the way, you have found a great place for info, support and resources.
