I've been around here for more than two years, and I don't think I've heard of more than one or two molar pregnancies (suspected or definitely diagnosed) among the cysters. I really think this one is not related, but you never know. I'm very sorry for your ordeal, and don't hesitate to post your story, as someone else might come around and find similarities.
Welcome to SoulCysters,
Sheri

Welcome! I don't think I've ever heard of another cyster having a molar pg so I agree w/ Sheri, I don't think 1 has to do w/ the other. Now, m/c on the other had is higher in cysters than the "normal" population... I'm too am very sorry for your ordeal.

Complete molar pregnancies have only placental parts (there is no baby), and form when the sperm fertilizes an empty egg. Because the egg is empty, no baby is formed. The placenta grows and produces the pregnancy hormone, called HCG, so the patient thinks she is pregnant. Unfortunately, an ultrasound will show that there is no baby, only placenta. Then a D&C is done to remove it. You have do blood work once a month for a year to make sure your HCG goes back to zero cause the complete molar can form into cancer and you would need chemo. 1 out of 1000 women will have a molar pregnancy and they say once you have 1 you have a 50/50 chance that everytime you get pregnant that it could be a molar. So i dont know which was worst not ever getting pregnant and dealing with that or the molar pregnancy.
Oh man. My mom was telling me she had one of those but she never really explained it to me. All she said was that it wasn't a baby. I never realized exactly all the problems that could have arisen from that. She had my brother and I after that but she did have a bunch of pregnancies in between that she miscarried.
