Default for moms, hospital shaving

I'm pregnant and I often worry about what I'm going to do while in the hospital about shaving. I shave daily with an electric razor on my neck and chin area. Did you have private time to do this at the hospital? Sorry, this is embarrasing.

oh man this is one of the reasons i was afraid to have a child. Thank you for making me feel not alone. I hve never had a baby but you only stay 24 hours after the birth. You can ask the nurse to give you some private time it shouldnt take that much time. I dont think any one will be focused on you anyway they want to see the baby. no offense LOL

You're not alone! I have been worrying about the same thing! I know that there are many more things that are a bigger deal, but for some reason I've been focused on this. But I'm sure there will be some time available to shave in private. My worry is that I'll forget to take a razor to the hospital and won't have any way to shave...

I worry about that too, but keep in mind that if you forget a razor, the nurses will have some from the people that get prepped for childbirth and surgery, and in the unlikely event they won't give you one, you can always wheel yourself down to the gift shop.

Hi there,

This too was a big concern for me. I kept all of my "anti-hair" supplies in a bag in my bathroom starting my ninth month. Whenever I used them, I put them right back in the bag. That way they were ready to go the hospital whenever I was. I was so freaked about it, that the day I went into labor, I went to a salon and got basically my whole body and face waxed. BTW, labor and recovery rooms all have a bathroom you can use for plucking and shaving!

I just wanted to let you know that i have to shave daily sometimes more than once and i was paranoid about having to be in the hospital and wondering if i would be able to do this also. I kinda lucked out because with my son I was a scheduled c-section so i was able to get up that morning shave really good and that lasted me through the first day of visitors. What i did was pack a razor in with my makeup in a bag and left it in my bathroom. Even after a c-section i had enough gumption to hobble to the bathroom after everyone left and do a quick shave. Just put a razor in your makeup bag and leave it in your bathroom. The nurses will not follow you in and you will have time to do whatever you need to do in private!!! yeah it sucks but dont worry about it. I did and i had plenty of private time and i was in there for 4 days!!

good luck

Thanks! I had to work up the nerve to ask this question. It's good to know I'm not alone! Thanks for the suggestions!
