Unhappy Mood Swings

I find that I have weird mood swings since I've been on the meds. It's been a few years now since I've starting taking Metformin but I remember when I first went on them I became a little mean. It was partly depression but there was a lot of anger that went along with it and I was aware that the way I was acting was completely unlike me. I picked fights with people, trying to push them away and I was in an all around bad mood. Later, I found that I would basically be either crying and completely emotional or I would feel almost numb inside with no emotion at all.

I also have a feeling that I have social anxiety disorder but I haven't been to a doctor yet to talk about that. Sometimes I will just be so afraid of being around other people that I don't even want to leave the house in fear of having to talk to someone. I always feel like people are always judging me. I just wish there was some way I could feel better about myself. Any advice?

I too cant give much advice, but its funny you should mention about being around people. I often feel intimidated by groups of ppl even sometimes feel like my friends are judging me! Even though deep down i know my true friends aren't judging me, but its hard to feel like they're not! I have often wondered if i have some sort of social anxiety problem maybe i should mention this to the doc when i tell her about my depression.

Hope i've helped u 2 feel like you arent alone. And thanx for bringing this up i wouldnt have thought of it otherwise

I always thought I would never take any antidepressants, but I was out of control...extremely moody and on edge all the time, anxious, couldnt be in social surroundings, etc...My doctor tried me on Zoloft and it has completely changed my life. Going to my doctor and having him put on Zoloft was the best thing I ever did for myself. I am on no other medications, but Zolfot. I was on Met, but it made me sick and my depression was so much worse that I couldnt stand it.
