I also have mood swings. I usually get very irritated without a reason, but I realized that it happens when I eat something I should not (lik too much sugary things) or I do not eat at all. Like when I leave out a snack (I eat small portions usually 5 times a day). When I feel it starting, I eat something. With me, it is closely related to eating habits, and I have to be very careful about it. Mood swings are for me warning sign that I am doing something wrong.

I have them like no other. I am Bipolar as well. I just found more fun things to do, calming baths, teas, yoga. Things that calm and relax you.

I have wreched mood swings. I have been a "*****y person" my whole adult life even though my general outlook is positive. I spaszed at my husband last night for no good reason. I am tired of being such a pain to be around.

I eat right, avoid sugar (which makes me crabby and angry) and exercise. Exercise is great but not a cure all. I wish I could just relax but think that my hormones make it difficult since my excess hormones come from adrenals. I go for a lot of long walks. Still though I am overwhelmed by my own mood swings, I feel so bad for my DH.

I was just diagnosed with PCOS a few weeks ag. I am not on Metformin and in the process of changing my eating habbits and exersize habbits. before i was diagnosed with PCOS i would have crazy mood swings and i would always wonder why. my ex boyfriend would call me bipolar and ask me what was wrong with me. my current boyfriend also ask why i would have sudden outbursts then 2 seconds later be happy like nothing happened.

as i come on this site i read more and realize that this is common. I am taking metformin, fish oil, pre natels. after a couple weeks of this i am able to feel when i am about to get angry/pissed off and i am able to control it a little better. i am going to start up at the gym again , i hope this helps even more.

i also have noticed that i get very emotional more since i have been on metformin.

So glad I am not the only one! I was just diagnosed with IR and PCOS. I was on Metformin, but had to cease as my stoll was very light (Sorry I know, TMI). ANywya, I have had NAJOR mood swings since I was a teen. I am now 36 and am a nightmare to be around. I feel for my Dh, but moreso for my DD4 and DS7. It is not fair to them, and being that i was just diagnosed, do not know what to do. I had a really crappy doctor, and want more info through another doctor. I am in the process of looking for a "PROFESSIONAL". Can they diagnose me with PCOS just based on bloodwork and symptoms? Good luck on dealing with the mood swings- sometimes I have to just walk outside and take a time out. Having my children and being a SAHM it is hard to just go take a bath or take a walk to get away- I struggle. I go to bed at night and cry and hate myself for yelling so much and being mean- I know deep down I am a loving mother- I just get angered so easily. I wish I knew someone near me in GA . I could talk to that understands!
