i was first diagnosed with PCOS back in 2001. I never took any medication to control my condition.
Over the following 7 years i found the hair on my face to darken and thicken but the biggest change has been with my moods.
My question is: does anyone else out there feel angry all the time and little things bug them that shouldn't?
I decided to try the pill a year ago and to be honest i have not stayed on one for more then two weeks. I have tried all pills available.
I have tried aldactone but I only lasted three weeks. I know this sounds stupid but if i don't see instant results i look for an alternate method.

Also does anyone find aldactone makes them moody or is all in my head? my endogrologist claims that aldactone has very minor side effects.

Aldactone has very minimal effects. It's generally used as a "water pill" or diuretic. It's very commonly used in heart patients or men with prostate issues. I took it for a few months and didn't notice any side effects but every individual is different.

I previously have felt very short tempered. Like if I was irritated or anxious... any little thing would set me off. I don't feel like it anymore really but I've been a bit more proactive about things. I know it's hard to stick to a medication regimen. I'm a nurse and have always had wicked issues remembering to take my meds or I'd find something little to make me wanna stop taking them. I just started the routine of taking my meds before bed and it's helped. I wish you the best!

I don't have any experience with this med but could it be from birth control pills (I am assuming you are on bcp) with aldactone?

I started taking meds just before bed as you suggested, i think this will help

OMG, I read your post and was totally thinking the same thing about myself. I snap at my husband for no reason and sometimes I am just PISSED. It makes it even worse that I know that I have absolutely no reason at all. I think it is PCOS related.
