I'm pushing fluids like no tomorrow--Propel is my best friend, as is hot water. I'm so tired but the cold symptoms have either gone away completely or on a little vacation. Kyle has been having issues regarding his dad's death so we have been sleeping in separate beds because of the dreams he has been having so at least I'm sleeping semi-comfortable and getting adequate rest. I'm just so pooped by 3:00 p.m. and still have 2 + hours to go before I get home.

anne-rest and fluids : ) I agree with you that the cerclage is a good option. I pray it all goes and definitely keep us posted.
adrianne-what's going on with you?
AFM...I haven't lost a single pound running by behind up and down a soccer field. I am trying to see if it will matter going to zumba and playing soccer. I need to get serious and change some eating habits to see a difference though. So, a friend told me she was pg today. I guessed it since she wasn't having wine at bunco. Anyway, she's 8 weeks. I felt the pang of jealousy. Why? I guess b/c she has always said she didn't really want a kid but, due to her converting to catholicism, didn't practice any birth control. So she's in shock and hasn't told anyone but I'm not sure I can be the confidant. I just hate when it seems like those who don't care one way or the other get pg....sigh. What do I do? UGH! This damn IF gets on my last freakin' nerve!
Acch. Having some cramping today--no bleeding or even spotting but enough to get my gears in overdrive. Why cant I just have one normal pregnancy but I dont get to choose I made an appt with my OB/GYN for 5:00 tonight so am leaving work early and getting over there. Kyle is meeting me there--pray that nothing is wrong.

I'm fine and the baby is fine--think it is the ligaments stretching + the Mexican lunch that I had (craving + no morning sickness for awhile so decided to go for it) Darn GI rumblings. Now my morning sickness is back so there goes Mexican food for awhile..darn! HB was around 150'ish.

adrianne...a nice new year's party would be nice. I've been contemplating one last inj/iui cycle in Jan. By then I'll have played soccer for 3 months and hopefully will have lost a few pounds by then too. Sex is better without the stress of ttc..heck, I'd even say my drive is up : )
Hope everyone is doing well and looking forward to the upcoming holidays.
Dani - You're 80's attire was perfect with all that neon!!! Too funny! : )
Felicia - At least soccer season is almost over, right? I'm sure your son appreciates that you're out there for him. Matthew did soccer again and had his last game yesterday. He scored a goal (which doesn't hardly ever happen) so he was happy. NOt to mention the cool trophy he got!
Adrianne - Hope all is well with you and your family. How's work going?
Andrea - Sounds like you are keeping pretty busy. I totally understand the whole deciphering of kindergarten tales issue. It takes us forever to figure out what really has happened each school day. Matthew's favorite thing to do now is tell a tall tale and then announce "I fooled you!" I guess I should be happy that he is using his imagination.
Suzy - I am sorry that you are still in diagnosis limbo with Elisa...perhaps your next appointment will shed some light on things. Hang in there.
Nikki - Boys!! Congratulations! Any idea on names yet?
Anne - Glad to hear allis well with your little one. Although I have't been here to check in in awhile, I most definitely keep all of you in my prayers that your pregnancies go well and that those of you TTC have success soon. Best wishes to you.
AFM - Life has been sooooo hectic lately. I fell well, but am still so extremely tired all the time. Work has been very demanding, DH has been putting in a ton of OT, and DS has had a million things to do related to school/soccer. DS had the flu and DH has a sinus infection, so I am doing all I can to stay healthy myself. My boss is making me mad because she keeps pushing the idea of me returning to work right away and at least working part-time and from home when I can. She said that all newborns do is sleep anyway. She's never had or wanted kid and just doesn't get it. She is worried about her own a*s because I pretty much do all of the work and she's afraid she'll actually have to do her job while I am gone. I am really trying not to let her get to me, but she is just such a selfish person. I really wish I could tell her where to go, you know? Anyway, on the positive side, I am 23 weeks today and the baby is right on track. It is another boy, which disappointed my son who wanted a sister, but he's over it and seems excited now. It actually works out pretty well because I save all of his stuff so I have a lot of boy things - helps with the budget. Our biggest obstacle is figuring out a name. We had chosen Luke, but two of our neighbors are pregnant with boys and are due before us and they also plan to use Luke. We feel silly using it now. Any suggestions?
Well, you guys take care. I will try to be better at checking in more now that things seem to be settling down a bit around here.

Missy--23 weeks already! Wow time is really flying! I like the name Tobias and Micah but I am a very traditional person when it comes to names. Work is still brutal and I am tired, going to be even more now that one of our nurses quit and it is only 3 of us now. I sooo want another job! I hope that everyone is feeling better and you need to enjoy your time off with your lil man, forget your boss. The whole point of FMLA is to take a break and enjoy your child. Man the nerve! I hope to see you more often!!
Fefe--It is kinda relaxing not to be using my monitor and just enjoying sex with dh. He actually put in some work last night and it was really nice!!
Suzi--How are you and the girls?
Andrea--How are your and Matthew?
Dani--Hey Sweetie!
Niki--Have you thought of names for the boys?
Well hopefully to hear from everyone!

Missy, congrats on the little boy! I bet your son will love being a big brother to a brother! I can't even believe that your boss is asking you to do something like that. The nerve of some people--geesh! I say do whatever is best for you and your family, but don't worry about someone else. Boy names are so tough for me, so I don't really have any advice. Personally I would use the name Luke if that's the name you really like--you could always say it's a family name or something if you feel silly. Two of the girls in my close circle were set on the same boy names and they both used them.
Anne, I can only imagine how nervous you are with every ache, pain, and twinge. I think given your history it's normal. I'm glad to hear that all is well with the babe. Will you find out the gender of your little one?
Felicia, did you see the Time magazine article, Why Exercise Won't Make You Thin? I recommend reading it because it's quite interesting: http://www.time.com/time/health/article/0,8599,1914857,00.html. I'm not suggesting that you quit exercising because it's good for overall healthy (e.g., cardiovascular), but I think it's a good idea to closely examine eating. I hear Zumba is quite fun--have you tried it before? I'd love to do some classes sometime. My power walking will get tough once the snow flies. Sorry to hear about your friend. I know that pang of jealousy thing all too well and it stinks!
Adrianne, I'm so sorry to hear about your stress at work. Will they be replacing those who left? I sure hope so for you! What area of nursing are you in? Thanks for asking about me.
AFM, our surrogate is into her 23wk of pregnancy. This is the time in my pregnancy with Myles when I got really sick, so I'm having some anxiety (although our surro is healthy and well!). I anticipate that I'll be a nervous wreck and quite emotional until we get past the point when Myles was born (26wks). I just really need to get beyond the 26wk mark to feel a little better. Despite my fears I do feel grateful that the boys are healthy and well in such a great place!
In terms of names we have one name that we're 100% sure on and the other we're probably 75% sure of. Silas Robert is the name that one of the boys will get. The other name that we are leaning towards is Liam Douglas. I like the name Liam, but am not sure about Douglas (it's a paternal family name of dh). Robert is a paternal name on my side, so we felt that the other baby's middle name should come from dh's side. I think the names Silas and Liam sound good together, but I like how they aren't matching (I'm not a fan of that).
missy...where has the time gone? I can't believe you are 1/2 way there! How awesome is that! I'm going to ask a question...and you can answer it if you want, no pressure. Is IVF a tax deductible medical procedure? I'm not considering it really...it varies...anyway, I wondered if you can claim it.
adrianne...sounds like DH is liking the "no pressure" zone I sent you a PM..did you get it?
nikki...technically I don't have to lose any weight. I just feel that I need to hit the weight I was when I got pg with DS and with my other pg. I was doing fine until that first inj cycle...it really added to the waistline. Everyone thinks I look fine...it's just a mental thing right now. The exercise seems to curb my appetite to an extent so hopefully that will make a difference as well. I do go to zumba and love it. I go on senior day but I still get an awesome workout. Sounds like you all are on your way! I'm sure you are nervous with everything that happened with Myles but to enjoy this journey. Have you started a book to the boys?
AFM..I signed up for another soccer season. You can really take out some aggression on people when you play indoor soccer...the walls are part of the field so you can use them to your advantage. I am really over the "getting in people's space" problem I had...right now I just charge at them
Adrianne - Believe me, I understand the whole wanting another job. Right now, I'd just settle for another boss! I do want a name for my son that has meaning and is biblical in nature. I really like Elijah, but our families think it's "too much." I know it's not their decision, but their opinions do matter to us.
Nikki - I like the names! They aren't too common either which is great. I think boy names are much harder to come up with than girls. DH suggested Dean this morning. I kinda like it - we'll see.
Felicia - Yes, IVF is a tax deductible medical expense. You can include all fees, meds, mileage and tolls to and from clinic, as well as any overnight accomodations, if needed. IUI's for that matter are the same. The trick is that you have to have a certain percentage of medical expenses for your income when filing. I think it's something like 7%. Once we started all the fertility docs and treatments, we hired an accountant to do itemized deductions for us and we have gotten back around 5- 6K each year we filed with an IVF or several IUI's. Like I said, it all depends on your overall income (for us, the medical expenses usually added up to about 20 - 30% of our income), but it certainly made it easier to spend the money knowing that we'd get a chunk back each time. I know you also mentioned that you wondered the costs involved for a frozen embryo transfer if you have embryos to freeze. I know at my clinic an FET cycle generally runs around $1500. Best of luck to you and hopefully you won't have to get to the point of making that decision.
Thanks Missy. I figured it was tax deductible. I just need to figure out if I can part with that kind of money...I hate taking on debt and that, obviously, would be the only way for me to do it. Another sigh~
Suzi--I have a friend who son's name is Silas and I love it!! Liam is nice also!!
Anne--I know this lil monkey will be stable in mommy's tummy!
Fefe--Yes I got it!
I got a call from a lady today saying that she received my resume and really wanted to speak with me. I have an interview Thursday at 2. My current job is talking about increasing my pay. If the new job can offer me the same amount of money with a better schedule I may take it, but if my current job raises my pay enough I might just stay!
