Hi, I have had a lot of tests recently, but I have known for a while that I had PCOS. Just recently though my blood tests have shown extremely high hormone levels. So, my body is all messed up. I have always been a deodarant freak. I have always used a lot, just in case. Well, since we have seen my hormones rise, I have noticed that my usual amount of deoderant is not enough. I am even using the good stuff like Degree. I use the same stuff as my DH! But it isn't working. I do not have a very "active" way of life like running around all the time or something. I don't seem to sweat any more than usual, I am just not smelling the best. I usually catch it and pile on more deodarant, but it is still quite bothersome. Does anyone else have this problem and if they do what do you do about it?

I had been using Dove deodorant for awhile but then ran out. I started using Secret--skin renewal and regular and they didn't quite work. I switched to Degree and found it didn't work either. I went back to using Dove and I haven't had any problems. I think Degree and Dove have the same ingredients but to me there's a world of difference in how they work.
I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM, I USE ARM AND HAMMER.
I PILE IT ON TOO, THEN IT GETS ALL OVER MY CLOTHS.
I'VE TRIED EVERYTHING OUT THERE, ARM AND HAMMER IS THE ONLY THING THAT HELPS SOMEWHAT.

First off, pretty much all the antipersperants are the same. There's none of this "formulated for a man" bit. The only difference between all of them is the scent and slight variations in the amount of aluminum.
Definitely talk to your doctor about this. There are prescription antipersperants that work really great, if sweating is your problem. They work so great that you're only supposed to use them every few days and they keep working even when you shower.
If scent is your problem, then there are certain body washes you can use that will help fight the bacteria. The bacteria is what causes the scent so killing that should help the smell. Also, some women just use antibacterial soap on their pits and that seems to really help too.

I have this problem too, and I never knew what it was...it wasnt really the problem of smelling, but more so, not having a strong enough anti persperant. I use Secret Platinum Protection. THat seems to work pretty good for me...but I do know of a friend who went to the Dr. for that and he gave her some RX deoderant that worked wonders..... Good luck!

My husband uses Gillette for men and he works in a factory paint shop with the temp around 90degrees+ and it works great for him, he does not smell overwhelming when we gets home in fact I don't smell him at all! So the deodorant that I had been using was not working as well as his so I bought gillette for women and it is the best deodrant that I have ever used, and it smells really nice. I have used nearly every brand there is to use. I have never smelled myself after using this Gillette regardless of my daily activities! Give this one a try, I am sure that you will be impressed as I was.!

I have pretty bad BO. It's only been like this recently, but I've got a lot of things to deal with it. I don't like commercial deos cause they irritate my underarms. Here are things I've tried, and they've all worked to varying degrees. (no pun intended. )
*Baking soda. Great for deoderizing, but may work better with an EO. Plus, it gets everywhere.
*Baking soda and cornstarch. Better. Cornstarch absorbs wetness while baking soda absorbs odor. I add cinnamon to mine, I love the way it smells. Still get everywhere. I also use it between my legs to prevent chafing... it works best there.
*Crystal. This is great! Non irritating, and it really works! Only drawback is I have to use it directly after the shower, and if I smell after that, I either have to wash my pits (refreshing in the summer) to reapply, or use something else.
*Lavender EO. The reason I thought this would work is because the smell comes from bacteria, and Lavender is an antibacterial. Plus, it's very gentle, and safe to use neat. (without a carrier oil). This works the best... it works for a long time, and I love the smell! (You could use any other antibacterial EO, as long as you check first, and know you aren't allergic to it.)
The only thing that works for me is SURE. Just plain and simple sure. Blue top, white container. I tried em all. Just no luck with any other. -another smelly cyster : )

Do the best you can, then sleep in peace, for God is always awake.
This is really interesting. I have always had trouble keeping my armpits dry. It doesn't matter what I am doing, they are constantly wet. I've tried just about everything. Recently, since changing my meds, I've noticed that they are wetter than usual and I feel like I smell. Dh says I don't, but I don't see how I couldn't when my shirts are soaked half way down both sides. Regardless, I feel stinky and dirty and it is happening nearly everyday now.
So...what exactly is this RX deoderant called? Is it in pill form or just used like regular deodorant?
Thanks,

Well as a Cyster who has had to wear deodorant since the age of 3, I am so glad to find out that others have this same problem (even though its not a good thing IYKWIM).
I have tried just about everything, they all work for about a week, maybe 2 then I have to change again because I start to smell again. It is awful!! Not to mention expensive!!
I've tried roll-ons, spray mists, spray-can typs, crystals, powders nothing works properly. It is highly embarassing, especially since I have found that even my clothes start to smell even though I soak them and wash them thoroughly
I would love to know of any Aussie brands if any of the Aussie girls have this problem. I am at my wits end and boy is it a smelly place LOL

Bekah1999, I honestly don't know the name My friend had to get it cause she had the same problem. Constantly soaking shirts. She didn't really smell, it was the wetness that was the problem. But she went to the doctor and got an Rx for this stuff. You apply it like a regular antipersperant. I'm not sure if it was in a regular antipersperant container, or if was a cream, or what, but it was definitely topical and not any sort of pill.
She said you have to put it on at night because it can make some people really itchy for a few hours and so it's best to sleep through it. But she says its so strong it lasts through the night, through your morning shower, and through the next day or two. I think she put it on every other day, maybe every three days. She also said it was the best thing she's ever done because it really did work exactly as advertised and had no more underarm sweating period, plus it really raised her self-confidence.
I'm pretty sure you could also combine it with a deoderant (deoderant only!, not an antipersperant/deoderant) if you want something to make you smell a little better.
Wow, sound like an advertisment! I don't mean to, especially since I've never used the stuff myself, but I'm just going by what my dear friend has to say about it.

Just wanted to say that I've finally gotten to the point where I can't stand the sweating anymore. I started looking it up, and it is called hyperhidrosis, in my case axillary (underarm) hyperhidrosis. They have several different treatment options. I've decided to order Maxim, which is the OTC formula of Drysol. I'm praying it works. Anything would be better. I can't even raise my arms in public anymore, it is really affecting my self-esteem to say the least.

I have began using certain dry and I love it! It works and you don't even have to use it every day! It lasts through showers and baths! It is great and I highly recommend it.
