Default More regular cycles after gaining weight?

Until recently, I weighed about 15 pounds less than I do now. I was pretty healthy and exercising several times a week. I had a body fat percentage around 22 percent.

A variety of factors led to me gaining about 15 pounds since February.... I now have a body fat percentage around 30 percent.

I was on Met earlier in the year, but then switched doctors and the new doc took me off Met. Shortly after I started Met, my cycles began to look ovulatory. The thing is, I've been off Met since July -- and my cycles are still ovulatory, every month!

Because the ovulatory cycles coincide with my weight gain, I'm beginning to think that the weight gain had something to do with it... even though I wasn't underweight to start with, and would appear to have had a relatively healthy body fat percentage (above 18 percent is the level I keep hearing as being best for fertility, and I was comfortably above that even before the weight gain). Any thoughts? I head back to the doctor in January, so I'll be sure to ask her then if the trend has persisted, but I was just curious if anyone else has had similar experiences.

You know, I had forgotten that after I gained some weight back after losing 45lbs a few years ago, my periods got a little better. I don't know what my body fat % was when I was very thin or what it was after I gained 5-10 lbs back and started having periods again. Over the past month or so, my periods have become wacky again and I have a scale that measures body fat. I was pushing 18% and 124 lbs, but now I'm at 16.8/17.5% body fat and about 120 lbs.

Not really sure. When I gained more I wasn't having regular cycles. I was 140lbs (due to bad eating habits overseas) and 5'9"... now I'm back down to 110lbs which has always been a very comfortable weight for me. I actually had regular cycles when I was 110lbs before I started BCPs.

My current doc hasn't mentioned me gaining any weight yet. I just waiting for her to say something.
