Question Most effective dose of Met when TTC?

Hey Ladies...I am on 1500mg of Metformin and TTC. Do you think this dosage is high enough? Been on for almost two months now and still no AF. Do you think I should consider having my dosage upped?

Unfortunately, I don't think there's a magic # that will work for everyone. People seem to be on such varied doses and have different effects, that it just seems to be an individual thing. 2 months isn't very long to be on Met...my dr said that it can take from 6 months to a year for some people to see the full benefit. My dr upped me to 2000 from 1500 after I had been on it for 7 or 8 months with nothing happening and I was pg 2 months later, so it might have been upping the dose, or my clomid might have finally worked...

good luck!

I have heard the same thing - different dosages for different women!

My doctor said there hasn't been any evidence showing that more than 1500mg daily doesn't anything extra (ie, that's the most efficient dosage), but everyone is different. *shrug* Two months also isn't very long to be on it, my doctor and all the literature says 6 months to see the full effect, so keep that in mind.

My doctor says it is different for everyone. I actually got pregnant with my son when I went off it for a month after being on it for a few years.
