I'm a sucker for motivational quotes, lol. Here are some of mine By recording your dreams and goals on paper, you set in motion the process of becoming the person you most want to be
A goal is a dream................with a deadline Decide what you want, decide what you are willing to exchange for it. Establish your priorities and go to work. The only weight you ever have to lose is the next pound It is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it You can do what you have to do, and sometimes you can do it even better than you think you can Be thankful that you have the ability to change and the time to do so
and for when I am feeling fet and fed up I love the next one: In order to get from what was to what will be, you must go through what is

I hope you don't mind, mine is more of a story than a quote:
I remember seeing a young talented pianist being interviewed by a "60 Minutes" type show (it might have been pianist Yvgeny Kissin...a Russian cutie whose playing is so beautiful it has moved me to tears more than once)...anyway, the interviewer asked him how many hours he practiced a day.
"Eight", Yvgeny answered.
"That's a lot of hours!" said the interviewer, "What if you get up one morning and just don't feel like practicing?"
Yvgeny looked thoughtful and then with a determined glint in his eye and a little smile answered, "I practice anyway!"
This has been a motivator for me. If this kid can practice piano eight hours a day, I can certainly get off my middle-aged patootie and walk for my hour every weekday! Kathryn |

My Mood: Points: 112,673.46 Bank: 3,245,802.62 Total Points: 3,358,476.08 | I have an article saved from E-diets that I love. I tried to provide a link but it is no longer on the site so I shall type the gist of it out (try not to make it too long)
"I was out one day when I passed an eating establishment. I had eaten there when it first opened but was not impressed. In the window was a sign saying "Under New Management". I was not surprised to see that sign, after all, if changes were not made the business would surely fail.
Then a light went on in my head. I began to think about how difficult and emotional weight management is for most people and what a struggle it is to succeed. My contention is that most people fail at weight management because they just don't make the changes necessary for success. Just as that business had to change to be successful, so do you. As the old saying goes "If you keep doing what you've always done, you'll keep getting what you've always gotten."
The bottom line is that you will never become who you want to be by remaining who you are. If you are unsuccessful now and want to be successful later, you must change. Wanting your life to be different while at the same time, refusing to make the necessary changes is a dead end. It's like wanting to take a shower without getting wet. If you want a different result, you must take different actions and make different decisions.
Weight management is a decision-making problem. The solution lies in becoming a better decision-maker. I know that it's easier said than done, but it is absolutely within your ability to do. And it starts with believing you can change.
So, say out loud and with conviction
"THIS BODY IS UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT"
Imagine your body is your business and you're the new Manager who has been brought in to turn this business around. It's going to be difficult and you're going to have to make some tough decisions - but it's your job and it must be done."

"Do what the average person doesn't want to do"
and when hunger strikes
"Think twice before you bite"
and
"Don't let the lapse become a Collapse"
