I live in Philly and have a wonderful doctor!!! I go to Northern Fertility. The doctors have a great reputation and have been very aggressive with my treatments. I think they see people who are not TTC also so it is worth a call. They have been in Best of Philly magazine too. Here is their website. Let me know how you make out!

Cool Philly help me too!

I just moved to Philly also and am looking for a good PCOS doctor. I read a post awhile back about a good gyno/ob that specialized in PCOS. At the time, I read it because I had figured a good doc might be worth the drive (an hour or so) but I can't find the post anymore and now I just moved here! Northern Fertility sounds good although I am not TTC and I don't believe they take my insurance. Also, with just moving into town less than a month ago, I don't have a primary doc to give a referral. My last gyno back in Allentown, PA just wasn't rigorous enough with my treatment- prescribed Avandia and BTC Yasmin- but Avandia just isn't working and I had to take myself off. I began to read about a lot about the links to weight gain and maybe I just got freaked out, but I did notice dropping some weight after going off of it. I'm still really frustrated and want to beat this since I was just diagnosed in December and I've been discouraged with treatment although my old gyno told me to "stick it out" three months for the Avandia. I KNOW there has to be a better doc out there in a city full of medical schools- I just want a doc who really knows his/her PCOS!

Any more suggestions out there?

Default Philly Doc

I used to live in the Philly suburbs. I saw an Endocrinologist by the name of Elihu Goren with Endocrine Associates. They used to have an office in Philly. Heres some #'s 215-248-9190 located on Germantown Ave in Philly. Other office #'s 610-941-6799, 215-997-9441. Don't know if these #'s are still accurate - it's been a few years.

Hi ladies,
I live in a Philadelphia suburb and travel the one hour to Center City for my RE who specializes in PCOS. She is also a professor at The University of PA, teaching this. So, I truly believe she is the best of the best. She is:

Salli Tazuke, MD
University of PA
Penn Fertility Care

Ladies - Don't know if anyone is still looking for a dr in the Philly area or not but I live in the suburbs and see a great RE in Bryn Mawr, which is half an hour out of the city. The group is Main Line Fertility. The dr I see is Dr. William Pfeffer. He specializes in PCOS and seems to really know his stuff. The only thing with him is that he gives it to you straight no beating around the bush. If you want sugar-coating, you can see one of his associates (Glassner or Orris) but they are all very well qualified.
Hope you all find an RE you are happy with!
