Default Multiple Loss Cysters

Hello, just wondered since I don't see it existing if anyone would like to start a multiple loss support thread.

I have had two losses. One at 16 wks at the end of October and one at 9 wks towards the end of March. I am undergoing RPL testing currently and hoping for some answers. My MD does not feel like anything will come back abnormal just that my metformin was not high enough with this last pregnancy. Though my heart is very scarred from my m/c I have ever intention of continuing to TTC until I have another baby in my arms.

I hope this thread is useful and comforting for those that have been through more than one loss.

I'll join you Roxy.

I just suffered my 2nd m/c last week and had a D&C (you know me from other threads)!

My doc said insurance won't pay for RPL until 3 m/c but he is going to do some other bloodword to see what he can find out, though he doesn't expect anything else to come up.

So, back to the drawing board next month. I go for a f/u on the 27th and should know more then. I started bcp yesterday so that should guarantee af in about 4 weeks, then back to Femara.

I'd love to join. I've had 3 losses. 2 were 1st trimester losses and my last loss was a 2nd tri loss at 15 weeks (baby died around 14 weeks). I am seeing a RPL specialist on Monday (4/20) He runs the largest program for unexplained RPL in Canada. I'm super excited to meet him and start the testing. I have to travel by plane to see him so I'm leaving Friday of this week. I'm desperately hoping that he can help us!

I'd like to join too, if I may.

I'm
currently going through my third miscarriage since the birth of my DD right now. And I had several before her as well.

I'm still feeling a tad emotional, so I'm not too chatty but I definitely need some support and to know I'm not alone.

And mamas, I'm so sorry for the pain of the losses you've endured. No one should have to suffer a miscarriage or pregnancy/birth loss at all, let alone more than once.

As him to code it under PCOS instead of obstetrical and it should cover it.

Sparkling - I'm so sorry for your loss. Have you had RPL testing? What did it show?

My doctor said that signs of my last m/c pointed to genetics. He wasn't treating me with my first, but I found out I was miscarrying the day I started bleeding - and it all happened naturally in one day. So, I believe that one was as well.

But with him saying that, it's so hard to believe. My doc understands that, he just says he's seen so many pregnancies over the years and this one looks to be genetics and that my chances of miscarrying continue to be 25-35% each time and that there seems to be no correlation. But, how can I believe that after 2 in a row. How many do I have to endure?

I honestly think I could/would endure it again. I just want a child! I'm not saying it's any easier for those of you who already have children, but I continue to feel empty after having them.

Sorry for the pity party - it just totally sucks! And I hate that it's not something I can control -- I have to let nature and medicine take its course. I'm only along for the ride.

Thanks Kristina, I'd love to join. For those of you that don't know me, I have a DS who is almost 3. Since TTC #2, I've had 3 losses. I've had the repeat loss testing and a lap/hysteroscopy to remove some mild endo and fibroids, other than that nothing was found. I'm currently going for a second opinion with another RE. I'm terrified to TTC again with no known cause, I'm really hoping they find something so we can treat it.

Hi, I'd like to join too. I'm Molly, and I've had a stillborn (Eric) in Dec of 2005, then Gideon, our living child in Feb of 2007, and then a miscarriage this past Dec. Eric had birth defects called limb body wall complex. It wasn't genetic, and they said it probably wouldn't happen again. I think the miscarriage was caused by poor egg quality. I Oed on CD67 or something crazy like that. I didn't know I was pregnant until after the baby was already gone. I'm not sure when we'll TTC again. Hopefully soon.

Harley ~ I wonder if they could code it a certain way to get it through insurance. It's really unfortunate to have to go through this especially knowing at this point you have to wait for one more to get any answers. I hope you find something out and I'm sorry for your losses. Don't apologize for feeling down. We all have our moments. Though I have one DD I feel very empty too. I just honestly feel like my family isn't complete. I talked to my DH about what if it happens again and he said we'll take it as it comes. I think having a baby will wash it all away.

Kristy ~ Good luck at your appointment! It looks like you're in good hands! Welcome and I'm sorry for your losses.

Rhiann ~ I am so sorry for your losses. I unfortunately had a recent one as well. I understand you may not be the most talkative but do realize we're here if you need to talk. I'm so sorry this thread even has to be started. I hope you find some comfort here. You're not alone.

Stacy ~ I'm very sorry for your losses. I hope the new RE sheds some light.

Molly ~ I'm so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine having give birth to have it end way too soon. You are such a strong mama.

ok count me in i love to talk as most of u know. i have had 3 losses after my DD was born he is 13 now. and i am antique ya i know(38). My losses were 4/06,1/08 & 2/09. I underwent RPL and it found my MTHFR on top of my PCOS. All these abbreviations make us sound like science experiments-lol. Since i am without insurance now i am not doing any further testing or anything. i was given more drugs to take to make me normal. Normal ya right what a load!!So tell me why i feel more like a drug addict now then ever??I am sorry for all the losses that have brought us together in this forum but i am thankful for the friendships that i know support can bring among total strangers. Loss at any part of Pg is painful. and repeat loss just sucks. baby dust to us all..... and hugs to everyone also

Molly-Welcome, so so sorry to hear about your losses. Losing Eric must have been horribly painful. ((hugs)) We are all here for you.

tcrock-Welcome, that's great that they found a cause for you m/c. (Well, not great that something is wrong, but great that they found a cause and can now treat it.) And from what I've read, MTHFR is treatable. I keep wondering if I could have something like that going on, it seems like a lot of women with MTHFR have a healthy pregnancy before the recurrent m/c starts, and I had a healthy DS before my 3 m/c. I'm desperately hoping they find a cause for me, my current RE found nothing so I'm going for a second opinion. Good luck to you!

Stacey: I know what you mean by hoping they find something. I had some RPL testing done which all came back normal so I'm hoping this new specialist can find something. I don't want to just TTC again and hope not to m/c without doing anything different than the last 3 times!

Kristy-Yes, I feel the exact same way. My current RE wasn't planning to change my protocol at all, just go about things the same way that ended in m/c. He even threw out the words "bad luck" which makes me cringe. I just have a hard time believing this is all just "bad luck", I feel like something HAS to be wrong, and I'm terrified to TTC again without finding out what it is. I don't want to go through this again! I really hope your new specialist can give you some answers.

Oh yeah I love that whole "bad luck" thing, as if I just had really bad luck 3 times in 1 year and every single pregnancy I've been able to achieve. My RE told me that after my first 2 but after my 3rd m/c (which was in the 2nd trimester) he admitted that something is very wrong.
