If I remember correctly, you're from Odessa, right? Did you go out to Rock the Desert? I went out there the Saturday they had it. They had a lot of Christian Rock bands, but some of them were just too hard for my taste. But if that's your thing, maybe you could check out Jars of Clay, POD, Kutless, Pax 217, etc.
Some of the not so hard (but I didn't get to see them) people that performed were Rebecca St. James and Karen Fisher. If ya go to the Rock the Desert site, they list the bands that were there and you can visit the bands site. Some of them have clips of their songs and such.
Hope that helps!

Yeah I'm in Odessa but I didn't go to Rock the Desert this year. I went last year and the music was just a tad to heavy for me. I am more of a country girl. lol I blame it on my Texas roots. haha But thanks anyways.
Oh I was wandering if you had found a job yet? I know that its really hard to find a good job here right now.

I had one working at Smokers Outlet but the hours just wouldn't work with the hours DH works. I think the first month I was there I saw DH for a total of maybe 10 hours. He was going to work at 7 in the morning and I was going in at 2 in the afternoon. When I got off at midnight he was already in bed. And the girls that I worked with really aren't the type of people I want to be seen with anywhere. (if you know what I mean) Since then I really haven't been looking, I thought of going to Target or Wal-Mart but I really don't want to do retail sales. If I hear of anything good I will surely let you know.
RTD is usually aimed at the high school and junior high school kids. Its not a bad idea but there are some of us who just don't like heavy music like that. Me and my mom were talking about how they really should have diffrent kinds of christian concerts through out the year. Maybe one day they will. lol

If a country flair is what you're looking for, try Third Day!!!!
They are my absolute FAVORITE Christian band of ALL TIME!!!
I know, I know, I sound like a fanatic, Right? I am! They are from Georgia so they have just a slight country twang. They also have awesome worship songs. I'm going to see them tomorrow night
(Friday Oct. 1st) I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!
I don't really think Third Day is country. They are rock - but with a bit of a blues or "southern" flavor.
One band I know of that can't be labeled strictly country, but is a mixture of "americana", folk, country, blues, etc. is called the Lost Dogs. I think they may have mp3's on a website somewhere. I'll have to look around and see if I can remember where I saw that.
Randy Travis & Johnny Cash have Christian songs on their albums. I think you'll find that on a lot of the (whatchamacallit???) country gospel albums. But I can't think of a more modern (ala Tim McGraw or Montgomery Gentry) christian/country group. I think Alison Krauss and Union Station have some christian or spiritual-type songs on their albums.
That's all I can think of for now. If I think of something else, I'll get back to you.
