My Mood: Points: 3,655.85 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 3,655.85 | You know, I'm not sure if I'm having them yet... But, I know that I'm getting a fluttering feeling in my stomach, that I'm sure is not the baby. It could be BH couldn't it?
I tend to deal mostly with fatigue, which I'm handling okay, and then mostly- nightly heartburn. So, I have SELF MEDICATED by eating a few Tamr (dates) before bed to counterbalance the acids in my stomach, so they don't affect me during sleep. I forgot to do that a few nights and I'm suffering for it!

I wanted to ask the Pakistani sisters a question..Our friends (from Pakistan) are having an Aqiqah tomorrow for their son and daughter..TWINS! I was wondering..what is the appropriate gift in your culture? I am assuming money..is there anything else that is done.. can we give the girl jewelry?
oh and another question for you sisters..what were your feelings about the tragedy of Bhutto's assasination??
Wow! sister Dana..31+weeks and you are only feeling fluttering! Jennah was kicking so hard I used to wake up from sleeping and I would also see her limbs pushing out my stomach..
yellah...

If you go back and read the Original Muslimah Thread on this board you will see how desperate I was to get pregnant..nothing was working..and my Imane was low..I really thought it would never happen..and then subhanAllah on an 'off meds cycle' I conceived my daughter Jennah Nour..a true light from heaven..
I too would read the stories of the other cysters to feel hopeful..and now look I am telling you my story..subhanAllah..
N'chAllah you will be blessed with a baby sis...
Fi Aman Allah..

well, the hot flashes are horrible especially at night, and the headaches too, insha alah it would be the first and the last cycle..
i went to the dr today and she didn't mind me taking clomid without telling her, she just said that i should increase the dose to 100mg because 50mg won't do much..and asked me to come and see her in two weeks time, which is great!! however, she won't do any blood work or monitoring, because she thinks it's not necessary , well, i'll wait and see.

Inshallah YUSEF will turn out to be a KUNG FU/KARATE player like his Dad and Uncle. So, he's working on that now!!

My Mood: Points: 3,655.85 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 3,655.85 | Salam Ladies, I wanted to just commend you for asking this type of question, and inshallah I will give you my insight, to do with my experience-- I hope it will benefit you... I have been a HIJABI for a few years now, and I decided to wear it in California. When I had to move back to WA State to care for my Mother and Grandmother, I felt very strange walking around (in that small city) with a Hijab. So, I discussed it with my husband and my Mother-in-law (who has a BA degree in Islamic Law from Saudi) and we decided the best thing to do, was to keep it on, but if I wasn't up to wearing the traditional hijab, I should wear a substitute. But, my family strongly urged me to continue as I was doing, and I am sorry to say, I didn't listen. I slowly bought hats, and bandana-type scarfs and would wear that. At first that was fine, but then at a later point, I wasn't pleased with that either. I wanted it completely off. I had an incredible itch to get it off, and I couldn't handle it anymore (I thought) I eventually did remove it for a few months, I felt some relief- but on the other hand---- I felt very very ashamed, because it is FARD (a requirement) for Muslim ladies, not really a choice. I often would daydream that I would die before returning to my hijab and that thought horrified me. We eventually applied at a Muslim school in Seattle, for that very reason. I wanted to return to my religion and to living in an area where seeing Muslim Hijabi's, was not uncommon.
When I did get that job in the Muslim school, I quickly went back to hijab and I'm so glad that I did. Although I don't work there anymore (they laid me off, when I asked for Maternity leave), I still know it was worth the move to be in a Muslim area, where hijabi's were seen around.
My suggestion to you---- find a city nearby you that has quite a lot of Muslims that wear hijab, so that you're not quite so STUCK OUT, like a soar thumb. Also, when you wear it- wear it with pride. You are a pure Muslim women, chosen among many women to be blessed by Islam.
It's easier said than done, I know--- but you must be convinced in your heart that the reason for HIJAB is protection, and that is what you have. You are protected from being looked at like a SEX SYMBOL, from people who you wouldn't care to know anyway...
I have a friend who wore hijab for a few years, and then because of the "PRESSURE" from her family members, she decided to remove it. She has kept it off for years and now she's married and has STILL not put it back on. The thing is, she felt very sorry for doign it, and she told me not to remove it before I did. I never told her I removed it and put it back on again, because I was too ashamed. But, this proves that ONCE REMOVED it's much harder to put it back on...
