Sara- Salam sister. I hope that your Ramadan is going well so far (to you and for everyone else here too!!) My personal belief is to visit your doctor and explain to her what natural remedies you are trying in order to regulate your period. Also remember that each woman's period is different than another. I, for example, have gotten my period since age 10 and for the length of 9 days with a 40 day cycle. For me, this is my normal, even though my sister would get it for 3 days each month (I used to get mad at her for such a light period!~). Have you been having issues only recently with your period? Also, what kind of stress are you under? I noticed you mentioned you are not married...is this stressing you? Are you in school or have extra pressure recently from work or home? This can also affect you. Also, worrying about your period a lot can prevent it from coming as well. I know I used worry about being pregnant each month when i first got married (I was still doing my undergrad) and I used to be late each month by a week or two...but as soon as the pregnancy stick came back negative a few min later I had my period. It got to the point where I would think about getting a pregnancy test just so I would 'scare' my body into a period.
Please take care and read about the natural remedies you are trying and make sure that they don't counteract each other.
SarahsMom - Walaikum assalam sister..Alhamdulilah Ramadhan is going well on my end and I hope the same for u. Thankyou for replying . Regarding the natural remedy I am trying it was actually recommended by my friend and also a sister here, but since I just moved here I havent found any doctor yet and so never had a chance to discuss with any.
I am not worried about getting married at this point since I am studying, but yes its been a while since I had my periods and that is what is stressing me. I always wanted to be a mom and all the symptoms and this delay in periods is just scary to me at this point. I do realize that stress might be another factor contributing to the delay but there just isnt much I can do.
Allah o alam. I hope things get better InshaAllah. and pray to Allah in this blessed month to give health to all the sisters out there.
Thank you for your reply. It really is nice to see support from sisters
*hugs*
Sara- Where have you moved to? There is a link on this board where people recommend a doctor in different areas for PCOS. You could find someone there. This is what I did. I just moved to the Tampa Bay area about two months ago.
Periods are important even if you aren't married. Usually they are a sign there is something wrong with the body. Has anything happened since you last posted? I would also say that since these are the last 10 days in Ramadan, pray keeyam il layal. Its important these last 10 days because one of the days, the heavens open and what you pray for inshallah will happen.
Everyone- Today i came back from my doctor and she found out that I need metaforin (sp?) I have to start today although its one pill a day for one week, then two for another week, then finally the full three pills a day. This is good because Ramadan will be over before I go to the full doseage so I don't have to break fast for the medicine. Has anyone had to take it? What's your experience and do you have any tips for me. Thank you and inshallah Ramadan is coming to a wonderful end this year for your families
I just wanted to say Ramadan Kareem to everyone though I am late and it's almost Eid Insha'Allah. I hope everyone is having a wonderful Ramadan.
IMG - I read about your loss and my heart goes out to you. Insha'Allah you are doing better and Allah rewards you tremendously, and gives you both sabr and lots of blessings.
Nisa - welcome to the board. Insha'Allah you will be able to conceive soon. Subhan'Allah my husband and I have been married 5 1/2 yrs and are still in wait for a little one. I pray Allah grants us all beautiful saleh offspring.
Things have been up and down for me lately. Not PCOS related things though Alhamdulilah. Been married 9 months now and still very happy Still need to work on losing weight.
as salamu alaki
just popping in.... how is everyone?

Lub wa alayki assalam sister, here is the duaa : “Rabbi laa tadharni fardan wa anta khayr ul-waaritheen (O my Lord! Leave me not single (childless), though You are the Best of the inheritors).” This is a beautiful dua
Also suitable is another prayer : “Rabbi hab li min ladunka dhurriyyatan tayyibatan innaka samee’ al-du’aa’ (O my Lord! Grant me from You a good offspring. You are indeed the All-Hearer of invocation).
