Assalamu alaikum sisters! I joined a while back but got busy with many things and put the board on hold. Needing it now, lol! It's so great to have a place for sistercysters :-P to share and vent and all that good stuff.
So a little about myself:
Tried Clomid for three cycles but it didn't work so I was referred to a fertility specialist. I just saw her Wednesday and after her evaluations, she decided we would move right on to IUI. I start taking Prometrium tonight, then go for a blood test on cycle days three and twelve, and we'll see from there. I have to say I'm liking her a little more than my ob: she lowered my Metformin from 800 to 500 and gave me a new prenatal vitamin that doesn't leave a bad aftertaste during the day, plus has Omega3! :-D
I haven't been diagnosed with anything else aside from PCOS except hand eczema but I don't think they're related, ha! I'm waiting to find out the results of my DHEA test (still wondering what the heck that is). I'm a little overweight and trying to work on that. I'm at 207 @ 6 feet tall.
Any sisters sharing the same? Any advice? Oh, and have any of you (with a successful pregnancy) used a midwife? Are PCOSers considered too high of a risk for that?
Looking forward to being a part of this sweet group of ladies!

Welcome! I just joined not too long ago and mashaAllah this is wonderful!

I am on met 500mg too, not clomid yet though. I am also a little overweight. I am 152 @ 5'2''. Looking to lose at least another twenty pounds inshaAllah.
I am also TTC. I know a lot of PCOS women in my city who have used a midwife (most of them used it becuase their docs were insensitive and uneducated about PCOS)

Salam sis Aisha!
Insha'Allah everything will go fine for you! I prefer the idea of a midwife over giving birth on by back in a hospital bed with rushed dr.s and nurses who want to drug you up and speed up your labor and whatever else they can do to convenience themselves. It's just not natural! Lol! I wondered if PCOS would be a condition that labeled a woman at anything other than a low risk because most midwives will not take a higher risk labor just because of what might happen. We'll see insha'Allah.

Welcome to the newbies

Alhamdulillah, things are going well here. My oldest is 4 soon, and he'll be starting school insha'Allah in September I'm so emotional about it! But alhamdulillah, I think he'll adjust well, bi'ithnillah!

Our baby boy is also doing well, alhamdulillah. Not many milestones to make note of yet, but he's growing well, and we are enjoying him, alhamdulillah.

Insha'Allah the sisters TTC will have a very fruitful summer!

Nothing new here , just went back to teaching and it is fun i love teaching. my kids r loving the day care and they like their teachers alhumdellah, my son will start kindergarden this fall insha allah times goes by so fast masha allah. Insha allah my sister will get married in August to a nice arab nice muslim man alhumdellah i am very excited for her .

i don't have much to say today, just wanted to say that m in the most difficult waiting game ever,..m on CD 21, having some symptoms(sore boobs, sensitive nipples,tightly closed cervix), but too many BFN's,alaho el mosta3an.

I'm not sure if you all know? but I just wanted to quickly pop in and tell you that Hamza was born on June 22nd at 10:10am, it was a repeat c section and all went perfectly well alhamdolillah he was 7lb 10oz and 20.5 inches mashaAllah walhamdolillah!
I am doing fine, we've been home since monday the 25th.
I pray allt he TTC sisters will be bringing good news soon, the pregnant sisters will have healthy babies and easy deliveries and that all of the sisters will have the good in this life and the next amin!

Aishah, The verse that u have chosen for ur signature is truly a beautiful one. I was almost in tears when I read it.

I'm just waiting right now in the 2ww. My temps havent been too high this cycle. But Insha'Allah I hope that I still get pregnant. If my ovulation date is right then I'll test on Friday if AF hasnt shown up by then. My pap smear results came out normal, Alhamdu'Allah.

mamawantmore - SubhanAllah, there are sooooo m,any converts in your area mashaAllah! Br. Robert Heft came to Windsor, we are trying to set up something similar to his Revert Center MashaAllah.

tasneem - I can't tell you how much I love these verses too. They really have helped me through the past few months. They've been really tough in soo many ways, but this just keeps me turning to Allah. Alhamdulillah!

Update: I bought a BBT thermometer today. I know this month wont be too accurate (I am on CD12) but just to get into the swing of things I thought i'd start charting. Any advice??
