Default My Acne Hero

I have tried everything from over the counter products to prescriptions and even homeopathic remedies. Then something really embarrassing and really amazing happened during my struggle. I was out at a night club and a guy approached me with a business card, he said "you are so pretty but I couldn't help but notice when the strobe light hit your face I could see that you have pretty severe acne." Of course I was totally caught off guard so I began to walk away and he stepped in front of me and apologized saying he was a dermatologist and wanted to help me. He asked what treatments I have tried and on the defensive side I replied Everything! Well I hadn't tried everything...He briefly told me about laser treatments and also described how costly but effective they are. I threw away his card because I was too ashamed to seek help from him, but I appreciated him in the end of my struggle. So I began to do some research on these laser treatments and decided I would go to the best dermatologist I could find. It’s not like I have insurance and even if I did the treatments wouldn't be covered. I found Dr. Zaks, (My Skin God) online at www.beverlyhillsdermatology.com. He has a special way of doing laser treatments which begin with the application of levulan which doesn’t burn, then you go to the waiting room for one hour and wait for it to absorb fully into your skin. You then go back for a laser treatment. Your given safety goggles and the treatment begins. It feels like a little rubber band snapping you. Yes it’s uncomfortable but nothing anyone who suffers from acne can't bare! After the laser has covered your entire face you sit in front of a blue light lamp with a fan blowing toward your face for about 5 more minutes. I was barely red following the procedure and was able to apply makeup and got to work the next day. The same time I started my treatments my close girlfriend started accutane and it was amazing seeing how we both had great results but I didn't have any of those crazy side effects let alone the monthly testing. My five treatments cost around five thousand dollars and worth every single penny. I realize most of you reading this won't be able to travel to Dr. Zaks but ask your dermatologist if they could do a similar procedure. I wish I had before and after photos to share but all I have is the advice I received from the guy at the nightclub.

Default the type of laser

I believe its the smoothbeam laser. I have also been taking 50mg of spironolactone, yaz, and metformin since my treatments which I feel help the acne as well. The doctor suggests going back every few months to keep your oil glands small.
