Default My Alternative Treatment

My acupuncturist (DOM) is helping me with my PCOS because I really did not want to take Metformin since my glucose is not high even though my insulin is high. I was really unsure about taking the drug at the same time I am changing my diet so drastically. I got the OK from my Dr to not take it so here I am...

I thought I would post here what my plan is incase it will help anyone else who wants to try to beat this without medication. Of course it will take longer and is not something instant, but I feel it is more of a full body solution. Because this is a highly individualized plan for me I am not saying you should do what I am doing because it may not be right for YOU, but I wanted to let you know what he is advising for me so you can ask your acupuncturist/herbalist/DOM/doctor about these supplements if you are interested in whether they will help you too.

We are starting slowly with the supplementation because he did not want to overwhelm me (the eating changes are overwhelming enough!), here is what my plan is for the first week:

DIET:
-No Sugar
-No Additives
-No Refined Carbs
-25% Protein
-25% Complex Carbs
-50% Veggies
-A Good Balance of Healthy Fats
-Occasional Low GI Fruit
-1 Dream Protein Shake/Day for extra protein

VITAMINS:
-Rainbow Light Women's One Multivitamin
-100mcg Selenium

SUPPLEMENTS:
-Biotics Research Corp. GTA (1AM/1PM) - for Thyroid Balancing
-LifeLink 5-HTP 50mg (1AM/2PM) - for Serotonin Support/Carb Withdrawl
-Vibrant Health Type 2 Glycemic Vibrance (2AM/2PM) - for Insulin Resistance Management
-Bezwecken ProgonB (3AM/3PM) - for Progesterone Supplementation

The diet will probably stay the same but there will be even more vitimins/supplements to add next week I am sure. I will update you next week as to what has been added or changed!

Claire
