We had our Level II u/s today and our baby boy's thyroid is normal at this point! Yeah! Everything else checked out normal, too. Yeah, yeah!!
To update you on the history of our situation: I tested positive for one type of thyroid antibody that can cross the placenta and affect the baby. My OB said that this could cause the baby to have an enlarged thyroid. Her concern was that an enlarged thyroid would make tucking his chin for a vaginal delivery difficult, if not impossible, IF his thyroid was enlarged, not to mention any other problems associated with an enlarged thyroid.
Who knew being hypothyroid would lead to all of this?! So it's back every six weeks for Level II's to make sure his thyroid is ok. Glad my OB is so thorough. Thanks for listening!

Thanks for your support ladies!!!! I really appreciate it!
Jenn, My lab slip for my next thyroid test says "antibody screen" along with TSH and Free T4 bc I'm due for more blood work next week. My thyroid research leads to two types of thyroid antibodies: Antithyroid Antibodies (ATA-Thyroglobulin and Microsomal Antibodies) and Antithyroid Peroxidase Antibodies (Anti-TPO). Definitely insist on having these levels checked along with your TSH and T4. If you have any other questions, let me know or PM me.
Again, thanks for all of the love!!! : )
