My baby brother (long) Hi ladies,
I wanted to share my brothers story of faith and healing with you. He is quite a bit younger than me, I remember changing his diapers.
As a teenager, he always had a mean temper. He couldn't seem to control it. He began failing out of school, getting in to fights, using drugs, and drinking.
He lost his temper a couple of years ago and it almost got him killed. He was fighting while he was intoxicated. The boy he was fighting with grabbed a rock and slammed it in to the side of his head. He was sent to Tucson from our small town for surgery, as they thought he had some bony fragments threatening the brain that needed to be removed. Thankfully, the fragments had not actually detached, but splintered and were still attached to the skull.
He had been arrested several times before and after that for things ranging from possesion with the intent to distribute (crystal meth) to destruction of property (temper loss).
He had lost several jobs and was expecting a baby at 19. He still had not finished school. All he cared about was partying and having a good time. I have always felt guilty for moving to Michigan, thinking that if I was still in Arizona this wouldn't be happening, although I know that is not true and it was happening even before I left.
He has changed virtually overnight and I am praying it lasts.
He is 20 now, and graduated high school early last week! His baby is doing great and he loves him dearly. He has a job he is holding steady and even got a raise. He is in counseling for his anger and is no longer doing drugs or drinking.
Why the sudden change?
He found his faith. He began going to chuch and now can't get enough of it. He goes two two three times a week and also attends a cell leaders group as well as Bible Study. He was baptized a month ago.
When I called him Saturday night, he was at home watching his son and doing laundry. On a Saturday night! I couldn't beleive it.
I pray every day that this will last. I know he still has "bad days" when he struggles with his anger, but he is working so hard with God to over come this.
Please pray for my brother. Pray that he keeps his faith and that it grows as he grows.
Thank you so much for listening and praying! His name is Justin and he is in Arizona.
