Post My beard and My trip. Please help me ladies...

Ok, so I'm 26 yr old blk woman. I first started growing facial hair at 16. Facial hair has ruined my self esteem. I'm now a grown woman and I haven't experienced really any type of relationship stuff if you get what I mean.

Anyway, I'm going on a trip real soon with my male best friend who loves me just as I am. This will be our first trip together. But I'm nervous about going because of my hairy issues. I haven't taken ANY trips with him because of my facial hair. We're going to be sharing a room and I've never shared any space with a guy before so I'm NOT going to be able to use my hair remover creme because its going to stink up the hotel room and he doesn't know what it takes for women like me to look hairless. It takes alot!!!!!

Anyway, I just wanted to know if any of you know any good facial hair remover tips for me while I'm away. I really don't want to use a razor but I just may. But razors give me hair bumps and my Sally Hansen just gotten me to the point where I don't have as many hair bumps.

But please help me!! My main areas I'm worried bout is my face and chest. I have coarse hair. If you do use a razor whats the best kind to use that don't irritate the skin as much but cuts close you digg? Thanks Cysters!!

If laser is an option for you, even one treatment will result in enough 'fall out' for you to enjoy your trip hair free. (You'll need several more cycles to keep it from growing back, but the difference with just one treatment can be AMAZING.)

Try waxing like 1 or 2 days before the trip. I don't know how long your trip is, but as long as it's not like a month-long trek, you should be ok. It takes a couple of weeks I think for waxed hair to grow back. If you're anything like me, shaving barely lasts 24 hours, so you'll have to do that every morning, and probably pray you wake up before him so you can run to the bathroom to shave before he sees you!
And believe me, I know, I am fair skinned with black hair, and I have no self esteem because of this. Only had 1 "relationship" (if you can call 3 dates and my 1 and only romp in bed a relationship) at age 26, and nothing before or since (I'm now 32). But I think waxing would be your best bet.
Good luck!

. I think the first question is How long is your trip going to be? And the second question is How coarse is your hair -- is it too coarse to wax without making a real mess of your skin? And the third question is Does your bf know that you have beard growth?

If you've only a light growth, then waxing may be fine, if you can let your hair grow out long enough for the wax to get a hold. But if you can't tolerate going around with obvious beard stubble while it grows long enough to wax, then get a good rechargeable men's-type razor. There'll never be a better time for him to get used to you shaving and he'll be so excited about being with you he won't be put off by it. In fact, you'd probably excite him no end if you got him to shave you -- he'd probably be glad you have the hair if it gave him the chance to take it off you :-)

Yes, now. But I sure wasn't brave as a teenager. I reckon I'm much more confident now. At 54, I can look at what's happened with the girls I was in high school with -- and I reckon that I haven't done too badly at all. In fact, I've done better than the girls I thought of as being "sexy" in high school. I've got a great DH. Still married to him after more than thirty years. (As a teenager I thought no guy would want me. And there's not very many of the girls I was in high school with are still married to the same guy after thirty years!) Great sex life (away back in high school I never thought I would have any sort of sex life, and I don't think very many of the girls I was in high school with still have much of a sex life at all now). And I've got kids (and not all the girls I was in high school with have kids). And I reckon that though I didn't have the confidence to relate much to guys in high school, I can relate to guys better now than most of the girls who were all over the boys at high school. So I've got reason to be confident.

If only I'd known forty years ago what I know now! If only I'd been more confident then, I could have saved myself a great deal of worry and depression.

you could get a small electric razor, you won't get bumpy, and if you run water in the sink you can't really hear the razor... you will have to do it every day, but it works quite well

I doubt that your hair is too thick and course for wax! Im black also and I've waxed my beard, side burns even pubes(lol)fully grown out. Thats when I find that the wax does wonders for me. It might hurt a little. Or what you could do is use the electirc razor and then wax the roots out. I havent tried it but I herd that it works. Also if your like me when I shave it leave these black spots on my face. When I wax I dont have them.

Hmmmmm? How can I assist? Well, it all depends on what kind of facial growth you have and how long will the trip be. I haven't wax because I shave and the next day they're just too short. I will have to stop shaving for like 1 1/2 days.. and is not a preety sight.

Well I should say let your other hair grow for few days and try to wax. I wax my chest, toes and belly with PARISSA wax strips, legs with a Professional and never done brazilian, hopefully soon. lol

I now shave every morning with mach 3 disposable, very gentle to myt skin. I use Cetaphil while I shave and do it all in the shower... take my mirror and shave away.

It's a tedious thing to do, but can't let things like this stop you from enjoying life.
